I had a trip out into the Wide, Wide World for the first time since i came home from Hospital 2 weeks ago -- we went to Central Park CHELMSFORD Essex for a 'Family Socially Distanced' Picnic -- I took my Asahi Pentax LX with the 'Sticky Mirror Syndrome' which I have not used for a long time, loaded with 1997 dated Kodak High Speed Infra-Red Film found in my Freezer . I used 2 lenses. SMC Pentax-A 24mm f2.8 and SMC Pentax-M 50mm f1.7 and a 25A RED Filter. I had done a short length TEST in the garden before going to Chelmsford. I corrected the exposure and increased Development time . I used my Home-Made FX-15 ( Acutol-S Formula) 1+1 for 14 mins @ 20oC InfraRed Test 02 by Peter Elgar, on Flickr InfraRed Test 03 by Peter Elgar, on Flickr InfraRed Test 08 by Peter Elgar, on Flickr InfraRed Test 09 by Peter Elgar, on Flickr

Welcome to the Pentax Forums!
The ME Super manual* indicates that flashes other than the Pentax models may be used. I would take that to be a green light for commonly available electronic flash of the time. As noted above, the ME Super was sold at a time when trigger voltages might be quite high and when camera manufacturers were just beginning to offer dedicated flash features and branded flash units to support those features. As a result, flash incompatibilities were pretty rare and it was not unusual for generic flash to be bundled by dealers as part of a value-added kit.
To explain a little more fully, flash sync may be done by using an electronic timing circuit (voltage/current sensitive) or the traditional method of using a physical switch actuated by the shutter mechanism (voltage/current robust). With the second type, the sync circuitry is typically fully isolated from whatever camera electronics might be present. Use of a physical switch was the norm in the 1970s up through most of the 1980s. A dead giveaway for non-electronic sync timing is the ability to operate without batteries, even if for only one shutter speed. Your ME Super is one such camera.

I'm not actually sure what to do with the 180mm for this camera. It's a nice lens, but the 12ft minimum focus distance makes it almost useless for portraits. Where it really seems to shine is documentary use when you need just that little bit extra reach. Probably not surprising for a press camera telephoto, I suppose, but not all that useful to me outside of events like below. Untitled by Andrew, on Flickr Konica Rapid-Omega 200. Thought I'd have me a go at this colour developing lark... Here's a shot from the first colour film I've developed: Fuji 400 Pro; Tetenal C-41 kit, 30C at 8 minutes in Paterson tank. I'll get a 35mm colour film through the MX or ME Super in due course, but this is a 6x6 from the Mess-Baldix. Carlisle-on-Caldew by Russell W Barnes, on Flickr

Took the Mess-Baldix to Leeds the other day. Ideal 6x6 pocket camera! Baltar f4.5 75mm lens, f8 1/100 second; Ilford Delta 400; DD-X 1+4, 8' 15" @ 19.5 C. Four inversions immediately then four in the first ten secs of each subsequent minute. Dummy Run by Russell W Barnes, on Flickr

Just trawling the back catalogue for something else, and this brought back some happy memories of a time in South Africa, so I thought I'd share it. Z-1 with 400mm I think on Provia 100 sunset and seaspray by Graham Hobbs, on Flickr
