Thanks for the info, ill have to be a lot more careful with the prime lens.
I just picked up the 55-300 WR so the DA* 55 price (about $700) is going to have to wait.
The DA 50mm F1.8 has an in-store $80 rebate, so the normal $249 is now $169.

So here is a screen grab from windows showing the same photo above (stripped of the exfi so it allows me to upload the same photo) all rotated differently.
But they all look the same now.
Freaking twilight zone. ---------- Post added 07-05-14 at 07:38 AM ---------- This looks the same to me in chrome, firefox and IE ---------- Post added 07-05-14 at 08:03 AM ---------- this url might be the answer Why is my picture turned sideways? - Blogs - Mandolin Cafe Forum

Hi Adam
I have rotated 90 deg ccw once and twice and they look fine in windows (well how they should look after rotating) and they still show up 90 deg cc as they do above.
I will take some screen grabs then post them when i get a chance.
p38arover what browser are you using?

I really only see this issue with this forum.
I think my issue has to do with these 2 settings.
Exposure LandscapeMode
Orientation Rotate 270

After running some tests with and with out auto rotate on my k-50 and using windows to remove Exif data my photos are still posting on this forum 90 deg clock wise.
What am I doing wrong?

Is this sideways photo because I use the auto-rotate function in the camera? It look normal on my laptop.

So I'm not to happy with the eye-fi, it says it can do ftp but that's only going through the eye-fi "cloud" its at this point the photo is re-sized and sent back to your internet facing ftp.
Forgetting all the bad security this brings my issue is the transmission is of the size (average 5mb) of the photo's is painfully slow and as far as i can tell Pentax k-50 does not automatically resize the photos but there is the option to resize then the option the transfer, but on the k-50 the only way to know its the resized photo is by looking at the file name.
So don't try burst mode then pic a photo to resize and expect to find it later to transfer.
I'm a little bummed with the eye-fi because I have a kick-A$$ AP to use it with also I don't have long fingernails to get the card out and need to eject it like a bullet from a pistol.
Just my 2 cents. ---------- Post added 06-29-14 at 11:59 AM ----------
And now my first picture to the forum is not rotated properly.... great.

Just wondering how this thread ends (like a tethered lens cap over the edge :) ? Did you get the 55-300mm?

I'm a week and a half into my my first dslr (K-50) and 2 days into my eye-fi and have hit a roadblock, I swear i wasn't hallucinating when i seen the option to re-size photos before sending via eye-fi. I cannot for the life of me find this option anywhere now. It has been stated in these forums the k-50 can do it but not how or where the option is in the menu.
