thanks for replies .
by compact i ment pocket sized , id have an mx-1 but a bit too big for what im looking for right now but it is on the list !.
the rz-18 was a favourite but gets mixed reviews still might try one though .
what about h90 ?
xz-2 looks great but im used to pentax now - unless there is not much difference ?? but still its similar sized to mx-1 ( i think).

yep amazing cameras imo , so easy to use and great photos virtually everytime - i got the Q too which again is excellent but can be hard sometimes to focus
or get set up .
i really have no complaints about the x-5 at all .

thanks for welcome , i really do like the feel of this new k-30 and image quality is supreme amazes me everytime esecially on its screen which is huge , makes my x-5 feel a bit weak now.
but still i took the x-5 out today for a hike and its a great camera as well so simple to use but still good picture quality .

ive owned my Q for years now !!
just thought id let you know ;)
seeing as im on here ill ask
ive still got 1.0 firmware on mine , i been meaning to do this for ages , always put it off as i hear it can cost a lot to rectify if you make a mistake .
is is worth risking as i hear it improves AF slightly which is a minor complaint id label at mine , only very minor too but any improvement welcome .

OK
i just bought recently a pentax k-30 it came with 18-55 lens and 3 extra x lens
28mm cosina 2.8 and 50mm 1.7 vivtar and a 55/70-300mm Tamrom ( sorry its either 55-70mm forget now )
anyway the 18-55mm works perfect excellent fantastic could not ask for more :D.
tonight i finally attempted to fit the 28mm and 50mm , when i fit it asks for a lens number so i enter 28mm .
but then nothing no F number no metering etc , i see no electrodes on these so i presume they are just manual AF and Manual Exposure
which is a bit of a pain .
but the tamron i was expecting this to just auto sync as my pentax 18-55mm lens does - but when i fit it it does the same no F number .
hope i made that clear its late i should not of started this tonight tbh .
