During a trip to Jordan we went to Wadi Rum, with its fantastic landscapes. A sandstorm hit and made it pretty much impossible to photograph with my other cameras. I was glad I had a point and shoot, a weatherproof Olympus TG-4. It definitely saved the day! |

Flimsy battery door?
I really like my AF280T. It has a surprising level of dedication on current model Pentax cameras: AF280T Review: stevebrot

I took this some years ago with a Canon Powershot G9, a camera I still own and use occasionally when I'm feeling a little nostalgic. :) Sorry by BurlapZack, on Flickr

I'm really impressed with this shooter. Not only does it shoot pretty well even over 1600 ISO, higher than that then grains begin to show.
Fast focus, awesome and impressive bokeh and to mention its superior macro shots. Hoping to learn more about the camera from the other users too:) |

Thank you... I did some tutorials way back, essentially these are layers of dust / film / scratch / viewfinder etc over the original image, and various blends etc.
My collection of 'layers' https://www.flickr.com/photos/nesster/sets/72157614045849723/
And here's a group for this stuff: https://www.flickr.com/groups/textures4layers/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/nesster/sets/72157608074292736/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/nesster/sets/72157604058396672/
Basically, it is learning to use photoshop tools for evil rather than good :D ---------- Post added 12-01-2014 at 03:52 PM ----------
Looks nicely ancient ---------- Post added 12-01-2014 at 04:09 PM ---------- Another way to get that vintage look is to use a vintage camera with a cloudy lens, maybe one that puts scratches on the emulsion, and maybe has some interesting optical qualities.
This is with a Franka folder one of my daughters bought ages ago, and the other daughter found, and made me figure out how to use, which started me on this disease. The lens is crappy, it had a light leak or three, plus I didn't use tape over the ruby window
A couple from a 1938 Certo Dolly Super Sport. Ilford XP2
not that all vintage cameras produce such dreamy results, some are quite good.
This is with a 1913 No. 2 Pocket Brownie, a photo walk for her 100th birthday
this last one is with my oldest lens, ~1898 Taylor Taylor Hobson Cooke in an old Graflex 2x3 SLR.

remake of FA lenses with all the modern improvements WR, quickshift etc...
a WR version of the DA 35mm f2.8 would make it even more unique
