Thanks for compliment. In reply to your question, and in no particular order, here are some details regarding the photograph: 4.59pm with natural light only, lens used Pentax 18-135 ED WR, f=6.3 (or 5.6 depending on what software you use to get info[??]), jpeg, P mode, 135mm, 1/320 sec., pattern metering, compensation 0. This picture was in the middle of some 55 images I took in burst mode over ~ 6 seconds (grand daughter chose this clip as her favorite). Original was in color. I then cropped it a little and then turned it into black & white. Hope this helps. [fyi, if interested, here are some of my pics @ www.flickr.com/photos/sunset_beach_buzz/]. Regards.

I have dedicated myself to taking some good pictures of my seven grandchildren; it’s just that these pics were never good enough using a point-and-shoot. So… I took the plunge and after considerable research, decided to obtain a DSLR and settled on a K-3. I now suspect it will take me many months and thousands of dedicated pictures to hone my new hobby. I am using the 18-135mm lens and would love to have a prime lens to improve my portraiture. I am attaching a K-3 picture of one of my grandkids (Skylar) for your evaluation. Thanks…

I am not able to upgrade my K-3 to firmware version 1.10. I follow the instructions to the letter. After I load the SD card with the downloaded firmware, I am supposed to turn the camera on while depressing the Menu button and then the instructions will 'automatically' display, etc Well, when i turn on the camera, I do not get the firmware recognized (?); the camera just reverts to the picture taking mode... Any ideas? I have tried this several times; the SD card does contain the firmware in the root directory, as needed...
