Chinon CP-9AFautofocus lens, Pentax digital SLR compatibilty

The lenses designed for the CP-9 work only on the CP-9, unfortunately. Chinon were very keen on getting into the AF game, with their early AF lenses having infra red focusing systems built in! These are fun and will work on any K-mount camera as long as their bulk doesn't foul the mirror box overhang (their mounts are M series equivalent).
The CP-9 was their first SLR with the AF sensor built into the body, but since Pentax KAF hadn't really got going by that stage, Chinon went for their own set of contacts with Canon-style in lens focus motors. However, KAF soon appeared and the CP-9 was essentially orphaned along with its lenses as it had no screw drive focus, the wrong contacts and no aperture ring. Chinon got into the digital camera market pretty early but were bought out by Kodak quickly, and the rest is history.

Chinon/Revuenon Autofocus 50mm 1.7 - AF for any K-mount?

I've got one! It's fun, but purely for the novelty - the AF is reasonably accurate but not at all fast, and it will only mount on the K-01 as far as modern Pentax cameras go. Being optically the same as the Chinon MC 50mm f1.7, it's a very good performer, but if you actually want a usable lens, the manual focus one is the way to go.

As an addendum to this post, Chinon did make a huge number of interesting accessories for their K-mount cameras including a radio transmitter for remote shutter release, a databack that would print 30 alphanumeric characters of your choice and a 35-70mm AF zoom lens that worked the same way as the 50mm.

Recently developed a roll of Acros I shot last October, having not had access to my developing kit for the best part of a year. For film that had been sitting for months on a shelf and chemicals that had been left standing for nearly a year (albeit in a cool place) I think it turned out quite well.
Pentax MV1, M100/2.8, Fuji Neopan 100 Acros.

You really opened the can of worms with this thread, SunnyG. But I'm gonna take a couple out myself anyway.

I heard the Chinon 50mm f1.7 being mentioned, and that lens is an underrated little banger. The Pentax-A 50mm f1.7 is the best manual all rounder by far though, so sharp, little CA, and the convenience of the A setting.
In terms of jack of all trades, master of most, and best bang for buck, you can't beat the DA50/1.8, particularly for digital use. Light, inexpensive, sharp and unobtrusive. The only thing you have to put up with is Pentax's whiny screw drive, but most of us are used to that by now and the DA isn't as loud as the older screw drive 50s (YMMV).

Pentax 645 LED, viewfinder and shutter issues

Staying on M1000 without film in is normal behaviour for the 645. If you have a film in and it's still doing so, that would indicate a problem.
The LCD info disappearing sounds like a dodgy battery, I'm guessing the buffer battery if your AAs and contacts are good.
The top right button of the set to the left of the viewfinder is marked LED, pressing and holding this combined with a press of one of the arrow buttons should activate the finder LEDs. If you have already tried this then I'm not sure what would be causing it.

This might sound like a waste, but I'd try putting a film in and then having a go. Quite a bit of the 645 is disabled without film, so it's definitely worth a try, just to see if the modes work (they should) and if the shutter fires.

Overall, it sounds like you don't have quite enough power somewhere. Could be the lithium battery, could be a dodgy connection. I hope you get it sorted soon, the 645 is a wonderful camera.

K1000 light meter

That picture looks perfectly exposed to me. Smartphone based metering apps are a useful guide when using forgiving negative films, but are only accurate to within a couple of stops (which means the K1000 giving f8 and the app f16 is perfectly possible). I shouldn't worry too much if I were you.

Another here from the F135, which I picked up for a silly good price the other day, hiding inconspicuously at the back of a lens display case in a camera shop. I don't use the135mm focal length very much, but one of the best Pentax lenses in my arsenal - the M135/3.5 - is one, so I'm not averse to them. The thing to say about the F135 is that it's a very different experience from other 135mm lenses, mostly because of the remarkably short MFD of 0.7m, which makes it a truly effective close up tool for photos of individual items such as flowers, especially on a crop sensor. This was taken at MFD at f4.

M50/1.4 at f2 on the K-m. The sensor on that little camera and this lens really combine to bring out warmth, even on the very grey morning we've had today.

Rumor - Fujifilm To Buy Into Nikon?

Japan feels that it can't have another big corporation go bad, like Toshiba has recently. It shouldn't be underestimated how much disbelief there was here at the Toshiba news - Japanese people believe in their big corporations, and are proud of them, since they were the base of Japan's incredible economic growth in the 20th century. Many are not just a single company either: they build structures known as 'keiretsu', which involve a great deal of cross-shareholding and partnerships both vertically (e.g. Nikon and a circuit board supplier) and horizontally (e.g. Nikon and a large camera parts manufacturer, like Cosina or Kenko Tokina). Ricoh, of course, is another classic example.
In the 21st century, it's becoming obvious that these big, unwieldy business structures are not the thing anymore and Japan's corporations are struggling. The Japanese govt and BOJ will be desperate not to have Nikon fail, and the likelihood is that it will be saved - if another big business goes south, it makes Japan Inc. look bad.

It's sad that Pentax wasn't considered necessary to be 'saved' at previous points in its life, because at one time it would have been. I'm still interested to see where Ricoh are going with it, to be honest (n.b. I am not a doomer).

K-7 Appreciation - The Forefather Forgotten

I love my K-7, even though it hasn't seen much work of late. It's only perceived as having an 'issue' with noise because the K-5 had such a good sensor - the K-7 was typical for its time. I wouldn't push any pre-2010 APS-C sensor over 800ISO unless I really had to. As others have said, what proves how good the K-7 was is that its body is still with us. I get the feeling that Ricoh are probably having to have a good hard think about how they can improve on it for the K-3 replacement, because there really isn't much that can be improved there.

It sounds like a shutter blade. If you get it replaced, it'll probably cost as much or more than another K-50, so you're probably better off just replacing the camera itself!
