Pets First B&W attempt

It's my favorite too so far. Mostly because it's Supertak 50mm f/1.4, it adds something special into b/w. Yesterday I edited another picture taken with that lens. Different mood, but it is the mood. I definitely will continue practicing b&w.
It's like sketching by lens, and every old lens brings different mood. Another favorite for b&w seem to be soviet Helios 58mm and Pentax-M 100mm f/4. And others as well... The possibilities are endless :)

I took this photo while on vacation at Panama City Beach. I shot it in both color and monochrome, but this version is much better as the details really come through. I love shooting blocks of color in harsh sunlight. They create a mathematical like layering of shapes and color. The shutter speed was actually 1/160s , but there was not a choice of that.

Backpacking lens storage: Pelican case or insert?

I did a quick overnighter last night. I brought my Rokinon 8mm, da40, da15, 18-135, and a carbon tripod. I never used the zoom but brought it in case of bad weather.
I carried the lenses in wraps or their own bags all in a small dry bag that goes in my pack.
Black Rapid strap under the pack for quick shots. GLad I had that for some photos I might not have stopped for if the camera was in the pack.
