Yes, my opinion is also the same. Not enough added value to justify the purchase of a K-3 II for owners of K-5, K-5II, K5IIs and K-3. Already, in terms of image quality, there's not much difference between a K-5IIs and K-3, just a sligthly different tradeoff, as for the AF, for static subject, the AF of my K200D is good enough.

On my K3 with my DA*60-250 I usually get the best results for fast moving dogs running towards me this way:

* Setup TAV with shutter speed of 1/1000 - 1/2000, set my f-stop at an aperture that is fast and has good clarity for me (for my lens that is 5.6) and let the ISO vary between 800 - 3200 (this will depend on your lighting situation, if I shoot outside on a sunny day I will set the ISO to vary between 100 - 800)
* Use back button focus and turn off autofocus on the shutter button
* Use AF-S and prefocus on a part of the course/track that you want to shoot the dog/s running through. By using AFC you lock onto a particular subject but the camera will keep trying to re-focus on different objects whilst your focus button is held down hence anything could be in focus. By having back button focus activated you don't have any issues with the camera trying to refocus when you push down the shutter button.
* Use burst mode and start to press the shutter button down as the dog is entering the frame.

It will take some practice as fast moving dogs are hard to capture well.

Hope this helps a bit

Cheers

Macro F 35-70 Macro Mode focus distance

Hello shhh, welcome to the Forum!
Yes, the F35-70 has a maximum focusing distance (I tried it on a K-5 and it looks to be about 18-20 inches from the front element to the subject) when in 'Macro' mode with the zoom ring pushed past 70mm, just as you've described.
This is a trade-off for allowing a normal zoom to focus closer in macro mode, you can only shoot 'close ups'. If you take it out of 'AF' it still won't focus to infinity, even manually. Perfectly normal.
The F35-70 is a fine little zoom, it even has a dedicated Lens Club thread. Many consider it the best value-per-dollar short zoom in the Pentax A/F legacy lineup.
Reasonably sharp when stopped down to f/5.6-f/8.0, softer wide-open. Beautiful color rendering (not all agree!) particularly for scenic and landscape. A decent walk-around lens, a bit 'long' at 35mm for wider views on APS-C format.
But it is a quirky devil, very quick and noisy A/F, odd-looking and plastic-y in the early autofocus-era style, terrible F-series MF ring placement and dampening.
A great starter/intro macro zoom and very handy for casual street shooting.
jmo,
Ron

The 15 is the star of that collection. I have seen them go for £600, although recently most I've seen have struggled to sell for £450. Unless you are really into film though, the da 15 is a much better choice.

The Macros are likely to be worth £100-£150 each, depending on condition.

You can look through the lens review database and see what people are willing to pay for most of the lenses. This should give you a rough idea of what to expect to pay. Auctions are always an unknown because there can be some fool with more money than sense that can drive the price up way beyond the "market" price.
