Yep, no scratches or scuffs. I have kept one of those protective cover things on it up until about a month ago. The camera takes great picture, it's just too much of a camera for my needs.

I bought it used, and the flash didn't work when I got it. It will pop up when it is in automatic mode and the flash is needed, just doesn't flash. I didn't have it checked out because I wanted the larger flash so I could bounce it upward (or whatever the technical terms is).

I have two Pentax film camera bodies for sale. Bought used and never tried them out. Everything seems to work fine when turned on.
Pentax SF-1 with lens cover and strap. $35.
Pentax MZ50 with lens cover and strap. $35.
Will sell together for $55.
Pentax 35-70mm F-zoom lens. 1:3.5-4.5. Clear glass, smooth operation. I believe this was the kit lens for the SF-1. Price $50.

I am selling all of my Pentax Gear and going back to a point and shoot. I just can't seem to get the hang of it all.
K100D camera in good to excellent cosmetic and operating condition except the on board flash doesn't flash. It pops up, but no flash. This wasn't a problem for me because I shot mostly outside.
18-55mm DA-AL 1:3.5-5.6 in excellent to good condition. Includes lens cap and hood. Glass is clear and operates smoothly.

Hi, my k100d has a problem. Sometimes, after I take a picture, the shutter starts clicking and then stays closed until I turn it off and back on. Is there a reason for this? It doesn't do it all of the time, but I haven't noticed any specific pattern. Any ideas? I thought maybe it happened when the batteries were weak, but I just put new ones in and it's doing it again. Also, it doesn't matter if I am using Automatic, Manual, or any of the other settings, it does it in all of them. Please help!

I just watched the broken shutter video and that is kind of what mine does when I push the shutter button and I can't see anything through the viewfinder ( it's really dark) and it doesn't do it all of the time. Could it be my memory card? I've never heard of such a thing. I think I'll take it to a camera shop next week and see what they say. What do you think of the Quantra (sp?) brand lens? Should I stick to Pentax, Tamron and Sigma brands? Thanks for all of your help.

I'd like to have a 18-250mm lens. What do you think? I've seen them for $450-$490 and I just can't spend that kind of money on a lens. Can you suggest a less expensive alternative? I have a 2x teleconverter but I've never used it. I have a 18-55mm autofocus, and two manual lens that are 30-70mm and 80-200mm. But, I'd like to just use one lens when I go out and about shooting wildlife, nature and landscapes. May have to invest in a piggy bank and start saving.

Batteries are almost new and lithium. I just cleaned the camera and it seems to be doing OK again. Is there any way to clean the inside of a lens? Mine looks like it hac spots on the backside of the glass.
This camera is nice but I think I may be too "old" to use it. My short term memory ain't what it used to be...LOL

When I first turn my camera on I can take one shot just fine, but when I push the shutter release button the second time I can't see anything through the viewfinder and it keeps clicking like the shutter button is held down. What's wrong? I have the18-55mm lens on it and it doesn't matter which setting it's on either.:(

I'd like to have it, but I'm out of $$$ until next month. So far, I've bought two older Pentax film cameras (a SF-1 and a MZ-50), a K100d (which I LOVE!), two lenses (35-70mm and 70-200mm), a flash, a 2X teleconverter, 3 extention tubes, misc. filters & holder, batteries and 2 2G SD cards.... plus I'm supposed to be saving $$$ to go to Florida next Friday for 8 days. I may be taking pictures instead of eating while I'm there!! LOL!
But, this is on my "to get" list when I get back.

I'm going to take it to Ritz Camera and have them look at it. I think you both are right about the blub because everything else seems to work fine... just no "flash". I hope they can put a new one in. Thanks alot for your input.

I put the flash on Auto, it pops up, but no "flash". I tried it on Manual, same thing. The flash icon shows in the viewfinder. Is there somewhere I can have it checked, like Ritz Cameras? or will I have to send it off? Should I spend the $$$ or go for the bigger one? And will it work on the hot shoe since the other one doesn't fire?

actually.. I JUST bought it off of ebay and haven't gotten it yet. Probably Monday. But, that's the first thing that I'll check. They just said that it quit working. Wouldn't that be great if that is what's wrong!! I'm so excited to get the camera, I sort of jumped the gun on trying to fix it. Will let you know. Thanks alot!!

I just bought a K100d...YEAH!! but the pop-up flash doesn't work... BOO!
What can I do? What kind of flash will fit the Hot Shoe, (reasonably priced...cheap)or can this be fixed?
Anyone else had this problem? Anyone have an extra flash that they don't need?

I'm right up the road from you... Ravenswood. I just joined here also. I have two older Pentax film SLR's and S1 and a MZ-50, and just bought a K100 D (haven't gotten it yet). Also, two Kodak P&S (Z700 which I really like, and a new Z712is that I want to sell!!)
Do you belong to the Charleston Photo Club? Not sure what the name is. We have one that meets the second Friday of every month at the Ripley Library at 6:30. Every other month we have a workshop and then a photo contest on the other months. Lots of good tips. Just wanted to say "HI" and welcome.

I just bought two Pentax cameras (S1 and MZ-50) and a couple of lenses, but, I really want a DSLR! I've been watching ebay, but not sure which one to bid on. I'm not really in the position to buy a new one, so what do you think of the Pentax ist DS to start with? Is there a "for sale" section on the forum? I'm hoping to learn alot from all of you.
