"Two heads are better than one."

I wonder. Does that apply to Beer, as well? Imagine: Guinness with twice the foam!

Great wicked sense of humor! I need to swing by with a couple of sampler six-packs and we need to talk about life, the universe, and everything...

Nicely captured scene! This evokes a sense of old-world charm in a quaint and sociable community. It has the feeling of a postcard or a miniature set. All this an more is why I cast my vote for this one.

BTW, can I come visit? It just looks so inviting...

Um...uh... Y'all are gonna maybe hate me for this, but I gotta be truthful. I swapped out my K-x for a K-50 just recently. There! I said it.
Please don't get your knickers in a twist about it, though. See...I'm not a rich man, and this can be a very expensive hobby. I was finding the K-x was eating up my batteries super-fast, especially when using the flash. I took it to Creve Coeur Camera in Columbia to discuss this little aberration and--lo! and behold--they recommended I trade out for a different camera that functions seamlessly. (Yep. I got talked into spending some more cash.) They gave me a reasonable rebate on the original kit, and it brought the cost of the K-50 way down, so I had no reason to squawk. (Also, I'm one of those "one camera" kinda guys. Like I'm a "one woman" kinda guy. Ask the wife.)
So...now I'm trying to find a good home for the 30+ year-old SuperProgram with its three lenses. Know anyone that stil wants to do film? I suppose there's a forum thread for Sales and Swaps, so I should go look there and post its availability.
Y'all keep in touch, okay? I'll be here more regularly, now that I've finally decided upon my "Photography Reboot Gear."
Happy Snappin'!

Aaron,

I've seen this done before, but had no idea how to accomplish it. Thanks for sharing the "method" behind such creative madness.

I'm actually a Southern Boy (from Mississippi), and I've been up to Huntsville with our Boy Scout troop (a million years ago) to visit the NASA center there. When we camped out on the property, I had juvenile visions of being an astronaut. This image caused me to pause once again while those memories resurfaced, and to think about that dream in a whole new way. [ See what you did? ]

After an incredibly long hiatus in my photography, I finally made the decision to go digital, putting aside the 30+ year-old Pentax SuperProgram and the early version bayonet mount lenses. I almost shed a tear over that, yet my heart rejoices in the new-found capabilities of the DSLR and automatic lenses. I want you to know that your photo has made me determine to capture something similar here in Fulton, MO. That way, I can "impress the natives" with an awe-inspiring shot. (Mostly, I want my wife to see I'm putting the new gear to use, and the money wasn't wasted. That way, she'll see it as a bargain. She likes bargains.)

Anyway, thanks for the helfpul tips, and my God bless you abundantly in all you do!

...because of your talent to capture such poignant images. The candid shots were truly amazing. The staged shots took quite a bit of thought. The creativity that each of you has unleashed in order to find, capture, and share such marvelous scenes astounds me. I can see you're gonna push me to "step up my game" in order to even feel like a contender.

Wow! Y'all just come out of the woodwork when some drops a line. I'm sure there will be even more responses once I get the photos downloaded, so there can be some critiquing. It'll be good to bone up on all things photographic with y'all.
:)
TER-OR, where's the wet bar in this clubhouse?

severalsnakes, we're over in Fulton. Occasionally come out Sedalia-way to go to Knob Noster Park for church fellowship functions. Lovely area, this Mid-Missouri. (Says the Mississippi transplant)

Kerrowdown, I'm glad you're providing pix of your exotic homeland. Sharing snaps of the landscapes, the fauna and flora, and the doings of the folks there is a welcome boost to an otherwise overly-American day.

pentaximus, looking forward to hearing some of your tricks of the trade, using the K-x. I'm just getting acquainted with it and its full range of capabilities. Did you, by the way, use yours to capture each image of your tagline? Nifty!

Too many years since I used my SuperProgram. Recently switched to DSLR by purchasing a K-x. Should be a good introduction to digital photography, sparking later acquisition of more upscale equipment.
In due course, I'll start an album and let y'all critique the pix. What I've seen the rest of y'all offering up is truly amazing! You've got an eye for composition, a heart to understand the emotion of a situation, and the gear to capture the moment.
:)
More chat and sharing as the days go by...
