Just found this picture from about a year ago. I nearly deleted it, then didn't. It speaks to me of a phantom or ghost or some otherworldly creature. Comments. Do I keep it, or delete it.

I finally got a video sent to me of the lens. It is truly a Sigma lens. The lens ring says F3.5-4 Zoom. The lens diameter is 35MM and it is the -y 1 version. However the F stop ring shows 22 - 2.8, so I do wonder if someone make a Frankenstein lens. The lens is located about 60 miles from me, so I am trying to decide if it is worth driving to see it or not.

Thanks everyone. I finally finagled that lens off my K-3. It is now in pieces. (It wasn't worth more than 5 dollars on Flea Bay). There wasn't enough space to even insert a thin feeler gauge but the switching on and off of the MF/AF switch and jiggling it seemed to done the trick. But it did take trying two or three days on and off.

Why switch now. You have most of the latest equipment. You know that what ever you sell your stuff for, including free to me (LOL), it will cost more going to Canon or Nikon. Why not wait a year or two or five? When your current equipment no longer meets your needs and assuming Pentax/Ricoh doesn't have anything that can fill that need, then jump. But you have stated that as of right now, your Pentax gear meets your needs. Unless you have money to spend and you don't mind starting over. Then send me your gear. I know I could be happy with it for a few more years anyway.

There is only one right answer for why you should buy the lens. That is, Because you want to! Nothing else matters. If you don't want to, then you won't.

I think this might meet the theme or is the eye just a little to high to be centered composed?

My K-3 came with the USB3 cable. But I still find it easier to pull our the SD card and put it into my SD card reader on my laptop.

Is this yellow enough? I know the ocean is blue but the sunset is yellow.

Thanks for the quick replies. I must have hit the OK button in the past without realizing it when it was working. As SteveBrot said, it is in the manual, (and I did look), but somehow I couldn't find anything about hitting the OK button to zoom-in and about the info button as well. Thanks, redcat.

Having been to Croatia. France, Slovenia, Denmark, Sweden, and Italy, you are going to want your DSLR with the 18-135 plus a perhaps a light prime such as the DA21 mentioned above. There were times I saw castles in Croatia up on a hill and not able to get close, so I like the reach of the 135 and so many visits to cathedrals that a fast, wide angle lens is needed there. Plus the sea coasts require wide angle lenses as well. have fun.

Here are a couple of my favorite shots from yesterday. Had an opportunity to go whale watching in Ecuador while on business. No chance to do any post processing, except crop the shots as the whales were over a 100 yards from us and all I had was my 18-135 WR Attachment 237234
I was able to do some PP on this picture. Notice the difference. Attachment 237663 Attachment 237233 |

Was that first picture in Sweeden just across from Denmark? It looks a little like where I visited once
