Just got my hands on the VL-90mm APO. These are some of the first shots. Really sharp. Love its smooth MF throw, really a pleasure to use.

i didn't use an internal flash becuase i shot the picture
in bright daylight. And the image Imageman has created is almost
right. the red was just a bit less bright.

and is it possible to use this in manual mode because
you change yourself the exposure settings so there is no need
to let the camera measure the EV as you can change the settings
yourself

What do they mean with multi-segment, center-weighted and spot metering modes.
I was reading the K-3 manual (p.42) and this is explained in the chapter AE-metering
but it’s still not really clear for me. How do these metering modes affect your picture?
Are the useable in manual mode. In which situations do you use different meterings.
I did some research on the web and on the forums but they didn’t really help me.
I also came acros the term Matrix metering.
Do they mean multi-segment mode with that?

the card out. Is there still a way to see the raw image because I shot
it in Jpeg

Thank you so much for the answers.
To answer to Andy's question, this cup has a lot of sentimental value for me, also it is a beautiful object.
I wanted to make a few shots to see how sharp I could get it and bring out the rose. As Tim60 noticed that the felt on the bottom is not quite right; I saw it only later. As for the lighting, I shot this picture in the living room where there was a bright light to my right, and the television shining from my left.

Thanks for all the replies,
as you all have said, it really depends
on the situation. But I think I'll have to stick
with "zooming with you feet" because I
haven't got any zooms (except on my dad's
Nikon D70).
