AZ 1895 - Perhaps I am reading your post wrongly, but you seem to be implying that the K3 is not weather resistant? It is weather resistant to the same extent as the K30, K5 and 5iis, are.

I have a K5 and K5iis - both good cameras, but I have traded the K5 in for a K3, mainly for the reason that you can control the camera from your smartphone which is helpful to overcome the lack of articulated screen. Otherwise, the K5 is a perfectly good camera from my point of view.
