Grande Galerie de l'Évolution, Paris.

PS: decided to give some more info here, because the location deserves it. This museum is housed in a beautiful hall from the 1600s which was renovated, and modernised in a way I really loved. Google it, it's amazing. The shot was mirrored in a glass plate of a display.

K50 with DAL18-55wr. I wish I had brought a small tripod or spent some more time on the shot. But there were thousands of more great shots there, and also my family to spend time with :)

Thanks!
Possible colour options below. This design is only suited to be printed in a darker colour on a lighter background, because the cameras are made up of dark/light shadow/light, and those can't be reversed. That leaves enough printing options though. I went for the Pentax/forums colours red/white/green mostly.

Updated design. It was another struggle, but there are no more duplicate images in the design anymore. Managed to squeeze in some flashes and big lenses too.

Weekly Challenge Weekly challenge #319 - Blurred / Unsharp

We have a small disco-ball hanging on our living room ceiling. I focused way beyond it, and managed to get a big unsharp blur with some sharp details. It does not make a great photograph really, but it was such a fun experiment, to see our living room being squashed into this weird shape/perspective. I thought of this when I saw this contest :)

PS: really great photo's here again!

I personally feel this falls under "fair use". It's not really the P, just imagery shaped like the P. I could also make it a slightly different P but really I'm not feeling too worried about it.

Besides the P, the images of the cameras and other gear are fabricated of pictures I found online, and altered to fit this whole design. Maybe there could technically be some copyright issues here, but again, I feel this is "fair use". We could also re-take the exact same photos of the products, to create the exact same end result here. But I'm not in the position to do that.

In my opinion, I created something original, using existing parts, altering these parts, and transforming these into something new, without hurting the original creators of these parts.

So here it is, my puzzle.

I personally prefer monochrome clothing and designs, and from my experience those are best and easiest sold, spread and worn by most people. (PS and cheaper to do)
Ignoring the rainbow discussion alltogether ;-)

Hey Pentax people, it's been a while since I posted here! But seeing this weekly challenge come by (on Facebook, thanks for posting it there) reminded me to submit something.

This was taken at a lovely stormy afternoon, with harsh winds, and a nice low sun. The silhouettes of these walkers just happened to merge, making them look like 3-legged persons haha. Lucky shot :)

I did not really want to take a shot of the pier, I really didn't. There are so many pictures of it out there, who needs more? But it accidentally crept into my field of view, and I couldn't help liking it.

When I took this shot, I could barely see the pier. It was a black silhouette against an almost black night sky. But after 13 seconds of exposure it showed itself to me in all its glory (or decay, actually).

Taken with the k-50 and smc pentax-m 50mm/1.7f lens. 13 seconds exposure, 800 iso, aperture not sure, but somewhere left from the middle, it was dark ;-)

Hi Pentax Forums!

I got my first ever DSLR 2,5 months ago. I tried out canikons in stores, but wasn't really happy with the "feel" of them. Couldn't find a real shop closeby that sells the K-50 so I had to order it online, and when I got it in my hands, it just felt right. Of course that was also after a LOT of online reasearch (much of it on this forum too, thanks!). No other brand in this price range offered the WR + great feel + k-mount (for old lenses) + fps speed + I don't even remember what else haha. Unfortunately I couldn't order it in all the crazy colours / combo's I've seen around online. Well, only for outrageous prices, which are not justified for just a little different colour. So I had to stick with dull black/black, which unfortunately doesn't stand out too much from all the Canikons you see here.

I previously owned 3 different very compact Canon Powershot's with full manual settings (which I used a lot), so I'm not new to that, luckily. But getting the K-50 was definitely a step up, and I'm still very happy with it.

Anyways. I recently got the SMC Pentax-M 50/1.7 and 28/2.8 lenses for EUR 20 ($25) each and I haven't used the WR kit lenses since then. Really love the colours. And mounting a lens almost as old as myself on a brand new dslr still gives me a proper "FCUK!YAEH!" feeling :D

The 1st picture below is taken with the 50mm and got 3rd place at the 52-6 "selective focus" contest which I'm really proud of, and just have to brag about here :p
The 2nd picture is taken with the 28mm.
The 3rd picture is with the WR kit lens at 18mm

Oh and to clarify the thread titile: We're called Dutch, I don't even know why. Our country's name is The Netherlands. And to add to the confusion it is often also called Holland, which is officially only the west part of the country.

Hope to post some more stuff soon!

Gr,
J.

Hi! I'm new to this forum, and haven't introduced myself yet, sorry. I might get around to that some time ;-)

I just got my first non-kit lens (the pentax-m 50mm f1.7) this week, and took a gazillion pictures trying to get my son's eyes in focus. It was a really hard job manually, as he doesn't sit still at all, but I managed! Seeing this weekly challenge completely fits my struggles, I decided to submit it.

This was shot at 1.7 if I remember correctly. A bit of overall contrast was added, slightly lightened/sharpened the eyes, and slightly smoothened the skin.

Oh and if it's unclear, the out-of-focus blurb in the foreground is a Lego toy he is focusing on (hey that fits the theme too, I just realised ;-)
