decided at the last minute to snap some pics ....
first one at beginning of totality 2nd one a bit out of focus but the reflected light made Venus (to the left) appear very BLUE ...3rd one just as totality was ending and sun was roaring back
just simple jpgs ...sure there will be many better but thought I'd share ...was really cool to be so dark in the middle of the day!

Thank you - what a thrill to find that resource. I'd forgotten to try using the WayBackMachine. I know of jcolwell from the SMC Pentax Lenses and other Stuff Database but I never knew about (or maybe I have forgotten) the Cult Classic document.
There were so many people in the late 90's who foresaw the power of the internet and did a brain-dump for we who've come after!! So much would have been lost forever . . . . .
Good reading for a rainy day!!
