Great work! I've only looked at the corvettes so far, but for a moment I forgot I was actually looking at models!

Both Darktable and RawTherapee are very good in my opinion, although I tend to favour RawTherapee myself. But if you're looking for something simpler than GIMP, I'm not sure either Darktable or RawTherapee qualify. I had been using GIMP for a long time before I tried RawTherapee. My initial reaction to RT was "Holy moly, what is all this!?" Lol.

Where sharpness is concerned, it's fairly easy to sort the wheat from the chaff. But to measure the sharpness of high-end lenses, which are just about all very sharp to begin with, and obtain reliable results that will withstand scrutiny, really requires a permanent setup, a skilled tester, and ideally multiple copies of the lenses (as UncleVanya alluded to). Even then, I question whether results obtained months apart and for different lenses would be trustworthy.
I restore vintage amps and receivers. After the restoration, I measure distortion and frequency response, but only to ensure the equipment meets or exceeds the original specifications, not for comparing one against the other. I have some idea of what is required to do the latter, and I definitely do not want to go there.

That's bad luck. My K20D screen has a healthy crack after I managed to hit it while closing the hatch on my SUV. It still works perfect. Gotta watch where I put my nose, though!

I'm using Gimp 2.10.2 installed with flatpak on Ubuntu. It works great. If I import an image from Rawtherapee and export that same image as a jpeg, the exif data is exported to the jpeg. However, if I copy a portion of the imported image and paste it as a new image, the exif data is not copied. Consequently, when I export the new image as a jpeg there will be no exif data. In that case, I use exiftool as kypfer mentioned above.

I get a lot of mileage out of my 28mm Tak. I just really like that lens, so it's the one I would choose if I had to live with one lens. If I was going to live with one zoom, I might take a good look at the Panasonic FZ2500 or a Sony RX10 III or IV.

I use Energizer NiMH rechargeables in my K200D and I've never had a problem. Firmware 1.01. I didn't even know the camera was fussy about batteries until now. For my purposes, it's a fantastic camera that renders very nice-looking images.

I might be misunderstanding your requirement, but in Rawtherapee you can copy the changes you make to an image and paste them to subsequent images.

The website says it's "mountable by all models of DSLR and mirrorless cameras on the market." DSLR Stabilizer | ZHIYUN Crane 2
They have a phone number and an online help button. Maybe you could ask them if you want to be certain?

If you use Av mode, you don't have to use the green button to meter. The camera should meter automatically. I'm referring specifically to M42 lenses here. The aperture stops down as soon as you move the slider to MAN.

They're both nice pictures with atmosphere, Norm. For me that's what really matters, no matter what camera was used to capture them. You can buy good cameras, but you can't buy good pictures.

Hopefully the neoprene works for you. I use GE Silicone II to glue FM dial plates on vintage receivers I restore. The dial plates are plastic, but the silicone has never damaged them at all, so I doubt it would hurt a sensor. If you did use silicone, you would need to be careful not to accidentally glue any wires or ribbon cables to the bottom plate. If you do, they could be damaged if you ever need to remove the bottom plate again!

I haven't had the bottom off of my K200D, but if there isn't any obvious reason not to use the silicone sealant, personally I'd strongly consider it!

In that case, it's easy to see how confusion over the status of an item can arise! The Q-S1 is still shown as an available product on the Ricoh Canada website, too. But then again, so is the K-50. I thought that was discontinued. It doesn't help that the Ricoh Japan website has a drop-down menu that says "Discontinued Model" right under the Q-S1. That could have been thought out a bit better, I think!

My K-50 carcass (RIP) has a similar bushing sitting in a foam gasket on the right-side strap bracket (viewed from the front). But there are probably other similar bushings in the camera. To access this particular bushing, though, the top of the camera must be removed. Did you drop the camera?

My best guess (and it's just a guess) is that it's a public place when the car is on a public road. But I wouldn't shoot the interior of a stranger's car while it was occupied unless there were extraordinary circumstances. For me, aesthetic reasons wouldn't be good enough. Sometimes there's a difference between the legal status and the popular public opinion of these matters.
I wouldn't like it if someone did it to me.

Just export your images at the largest size- in pixels- possible. I don't know how LR does things, but the DPI setting might only matter if you export your image in units of measure (inches, millimetres, etc.) rather than pixels. It might scale the image to reflect the dimensions you enter. If you have a 3000 x 2000 pixel crop that you want printed, make sure the exported image is still 3000 x 2000 pixels when the printer opens the file.
I print my own photos on a Canon Pixma Pro 100. I use GIMP and RawTherapee and don't pay any attention to the DPI setting. If I have a 3k x 2k crop I want to print at 10 x 6.7 inches (appx.), that will be 300 DPI. If I want it bigger than 10x6.7 then it will be less than 300 DPI unless I scale-up the image.

I'm not familiar with LR, but I don't think it matters where you set the DPI for the file. So far as I know, if you want to print a 16x9 at 300 DPI, then the image needs to be 4800 x 2700 pixels. If the image is smaller than that you can still have a 16x9 print, but at less than 300 DPI. 18x12 has to be 5400 x 3600 pixels at 300 DPI. It could be even bigger, of course, and you might end up with more than 300 DPI.
That's my understanding. If I'm wrong, someone will let us know...

So far as I know, all Pentax DSLRs will meter with manual lenses and focus confirmation will work, too. Nearly all the bodies have in-body stabilization, so your manual lenses will be stabilized.

I assume you'll be focusing close, so I'd make sure the TC still actually gives 1.4X when focused at less than infinity. Maybe it does; I don't know. But optics can be funny.

If you're shooting hand held it won't apply, but I've had my SR rumble audibly on a tripod when I forgot to turn it off. The SR causes the tripod to resonate, and then the SR tries to stabilize the shake it is actually causing, which just makes things worse. But it didn't keep doing it; it was only for a second or two at a time.
