a lot of reasons, ive always hated auto exposure i feel like ive no control, always thought auto focus was an ingenious solution to a non-exsistant problem. i of course love the look of film, digital cant match, and cost ive priced out 2 digial "systems" a camera 2/3 lenses i need 1/2 i want dedicated flash sdxc cards etc. about the $ame as a pentax 645 n 2 with 3 lenses 3 film cassettes strap and a rolleiflex 3.5f tlr!!!

the work/reward formula is it worth the work. i love making meter readings and setting my own exposure. i think auto focus is an ingenius solution to a non existant problem. i dislike spending 10 minutes flipping through menus when i can set a manual camera to do what i want in 10 seconds. that said a digital can shoot till the cows come home, with a big enough memory card. lastly cds and memory cards are earier to store safely as i found out when flooding destroyed 25 years worth of photos, slides, and negatives.

Holsters

I have been looking at camera/zoom holsters the Spider Holster looks cool but I dont like the way it leaves my camera exposed to the elements. The Booq Python, Tamrac pro digital zoom 10, and the Lowepro toploader pro 75 AW II, all come in at the same price range. Anyone have any experience with any of these bags?

What's in your hiking kit?

when backpaking or bicycle packing I have worked out a kit that works well for me'. A Pentax LX, a 35mm Macro lens, a 28-85mm, 80-200mm, a 500mm cat and a 1.4x teleconverter. two Vivitar 225 flashes one with an sl2 slave module, a Gossen luna pro f a folding portable reflector and lastly my Gitzo Loisir tripod. My case is some odd off brand (label fell off long ago) my local shop owner helped me' to select it to fit all my gear. Even taking it out onto the sidewalk to make sure it would fit on my bikes front rack. A perq of being a regular customer. I should note that on a casual day hike I only carry one camera usualy my Yashica MAT12g.

the Godox looks very impressive and expensive. I'll start with the Pentax shoe mounted on my LX, bracket mounted on my Yashica mat and save for the Godox again thank you both.

I took a tumble, while I'm ok my Sunpak 611 looks like spagetti on a stick. I need a new flash that I can use with my existing cameras, Pentax LX & Yashica mat124g. As well as the Pentax 645n II I'm buying soon.
