Hi Gerd,
When you say it works very well with the adaptor, what about
"• If your lens does not have a manual aperture control ring, it will stop down to its smallest f/stop by default."
Does this mean you have to use the lever on the adaptor to open the aperture up, once you connect it, or everytime after taking a picture?
And when you say lenses are not as good as the Fuji, which ones are you referring to ? Its hard to imagine a sharper lens than the 90 DFA makro...
Cheers and thanks for your time

Hi guys,
I am considering going Fuji in MF as an alternative to the 645Z, with my eyes on the upcoming 100MP camera.
Does anybody already use Pentax glass with adapters for Fuji ?
what about lenses that don't have the aperture-ring, like the DFA line, 35,90, 28-45 ?
Can they be stepped down with the adapter ?
I am thinking Kippon a.t.m.
any thoughts ?
cheers

Hey Guys,
Who's using the K1 and tilting the sensor ?
you know, you can use the K1 and shift/tilt the sensor to tilt the plane of focus like on a view camera and I just wanted to find out if it's enough tilt to get the desired effect.
Anybody ?
cheers

Rick,
hope you were not offended, but there are so many "lecturers" at work in some forums, I sometimes can't keep myself from shooting back.
Anyway, 100% with you on the old 35mm, had that and replaced it with the newer one, exactly because it has less curvature ( and better contrast )
And had not considered before to go down that FF Pentax road. And I won't until somebody comes up with a good reason for that. Still waiting to get more info on that topic, but maybe the 645 forum is not the most ideal place to ask...
Will look into the options on the wide end in FF Pentax lenses and report back.
besides, what are good adapters for 645 to K ?
cheers

Hi Rick,
thanks for the lecture...
just my 50% :
I have owned the Hartblei and used it on the 645Z and good riddance.
I have worked with 4x5, 6x7 and 8x10 view camera for years and good riddance, too.
Knowing that tilt does not increase the DOF per se, but tilts the POF and therefore can extend the perceived DOF from foreground to background, I'd still like for somebody to answer my question, if the movement of the sensor in the K1 can achieve that effect and to which degree, like for instance with a 45(-85)mm, since that is the widest FL lens with an aperturering, that I still own. As I understand it 28-45 and new 35 are out of the race for this.
cheers

thing I forgot to mention is,
does the sensor tilting feature work for increasing DOF i.e. TS-like movement to tilt the plane of focus ???

My goals were
1. to have a spare body, that uses the same batteries
2. expand the wide end, since the Z only goes to ~24 FFE.
3. have a stabilized long end, since the 200 and the 300 for non tripod landscape use have to be stopped down to f11 and that gets me to at least 1/500 handheld and ISO 1600 in full sunshine, which, for me, doesn't hold the details for which I am using MF.

I had russian 45 T/S once, super sharp in the middle, useless on the sides and field curvature like mad, so that road is closed for me.
Nobody tried tilting the sensor yet ?

Hi Guys,
anybody using the K1 with older or newer 645 lenses ?
am I right in assuming that this disables the AF ?
is there a way to use the SR that's in the 28-45 ?
Or can I use the SR that's in the K1 ?
Which adapters are there ?
Another thing I am wondering about is, if the shift/tilt that the K1 offers can really be used as a tilt to increase DOF in landscape shots ?
there's this thing in the original announcement, but none of testers has mentioned this option...
lots of questions, I know but then, we never stop learning
cheers

Hi guys,
just a quick check,
is there still no way to get the Z to send a live view picture to the computer ?
I am finding it very hard to focus manually in Macro with the 90mm on the the screen in the back, just not a very good res-screen compared to say the Nikon D810.
Don't get me wrong I love the cam so much that I sold all my Nikon stuff, but is it soo hard to give us good tethering ???
cheers

Weight is the main difference.Tested them thoroughly together before buying the 35. sharpness and contrast could not be closer, in my testing. So I got the 35, and am very happy with it. Later I got the 28-45 used since I wanted that extra on the wide side and the 25 was too dodgy, from what I heard here. VR is not impressive, but there is definitely sample variation in that regard, from my first testing( very weired ).
Now I have both, but find when getting out hiking, I don't miss the wide end very much, so I opt for the 35mm, and the gained weight lets me take another lens on the long end.
just my 50 percent
cheers

Hi guys,
has anyone tried to do macro with this lens and a set of extension rings?
Need faster shuttertime than my 120 or the 90 mm-macro can give me on the Z.
Thought I'd pick one up and try it. Just not sure if it is worth the investment, qualitywise...
any thoughts ?
cheers

Hey Sculptormic, what are you doing with your uploads to get them so crisp? I just posted this pic, that is tacksharp in 1200x900 at 300dpi and it looks like XXX(substitute for not so good).
what are your parameter when you post ?
thanks for explaining

Hi Guys,
Thinking of getting one of those. Apparently they do HSS with triggers that support HSS.
Since I have always relied on the 1/125 my Z gives me, use a cheap Yongnuo trigger that just works and I don't know where to start to check if there are triggers that support HSS for the Pentax and also work with the Rotolight system.
If anybody has any experience with that combo, please give me a shout
cheers

guess not , as the 28-45 does not behave like that and it doesn't change, when SR is switched off...
bummer

ok, so that's what we gotta live with apparently. talked to a guy from the german repaircompany that's listed on the Pentax website. he said, yes it's slow, since it's a Macro !
well I don't consider the 120 macro particularly slow for portraits, when used in the non macro area, so it's a bit annoying, that a lens in this league takes longer to focus than all the other lenses, the new 55, 35 and 28-45 included.
but then whatcha gonna do about it ...?
results are stellar, even at 2.8 so it's a keeper
cheers

Hi guys,
just got the lens, but AF has delay, before it starts. it's about 1/2 sec before it works, then it's quite quick.
can anybody check theirs, if they got the same behaviour, I gotta decide, if I send it back. it's a bit annoying for portraiture, and that's what it's for, in my book.
cheers

Hi Guys,
I just bit the bullet and bought a slightly used
Pentax DFA 645 HD 2,8 / 90 mm ED AR SR Macro.
do you guys have any feedback or comments on this one?
Hope that I'll use it enough to justify the expense...
cheers

Hi Guys,
anybody used this lens on 645D or Z ?
Hasselblad/Schneider Variogon CF 140-280mm/5,6
could get it quite cheap and it would replace the long end of the 80-160 and the 300/5.6
what do you think ?
cheers
