I went to the I park Mall to find Pentax while I am here but couldn't find anyone that carried Pentax anymore. No one!!!! They had Pentax signs all over the place and millions of cameras but not one Pentax only cannon and Nikon. I couldn't find any lens either. Someone said go to the I park mall and that is where I went to the third floor where there are millions of camera but no one carries Pentax any more. I was there for a month and went to every camera store in Seoul and couldn't find one. I found one Pentax lens but that was it.
I don't know if they quit carrying them because of the change in ownership of Pentax or what but it is real frustrating.

I have a Pentax KR and had a speck of dust inside my camera. I tried the dust removal process and that didn't help so I went to the Sensor Cleaning. I raised the mirror and uses an air squeeze bulb to try and dislodged the speck of dirt. The only problem is after I did that my cameras shutter speed is very slow. It takes two to three seconds for it to click. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Well I know I screwed up. I have a Pentax KR and was going through the menu to see how I could get rid of a speck that comes out in my pictures. It isn't in the lens. I tried the dust removal process but that didn't work. So I pressed the "Sensor Cleaning" and selected Mirror Up. Then I had a little squeeze bulb that forces out air and squeezed the bulb a couple of times. When I did that and turned it off, my shutter speed now takes about three or more seconds to close. What did I do wrong? It doesn't matter what lens I'm using, it still is very slow and makes the camera unusable.

I got in my adapter from Japan and now I have another question. How does it work?
The circle part screws to my lens but then it won't attach to the camera. I have no idea what this long piece is for or how to assembly this. Am I the dumbest individual alive or has anyone else run into this?

No wonder. It was sold to me as a M42 adapter to the K/M mounts. Thanks. ---------- Post added 10-15-14 at 10:12 AM ----------

Ok. New problem. I tried the adapater on some other lens and they work great! I tried it with a 135mm and 200mm Sears. Focused great and clear as a bell. But I have three lens that for some reason it isn't working. The Takumar 1:1.8:/55; Super Takmar 1:1.8/55; and a SMC Takumar 1:2/55 all won't focus on it. So why is it working fine for the bigger lens but won't for the others? I posted some pictures of the adapter but may have deleted them.

I have just got in a new M42 adapter for all the manual lens I bought not knowing I needed an adapter. It screws on fine except when I try to try and use any lens I attach to it, the lens is all blurry? Is there a setting that I need to change it order for it to let me use the adapter?

I think this is for a cannon. When I put the lens in, it seems to be just a little bit smaller than my opening. It came with a cannon lens cap on it. I wrote the seller and she told me someone said they "thought" it was a pentax lens and that is why she listed it as such. I'm sending it back. The serial number is 208304

I bought this lens off of ebay and it said that it had a Pentax mount but it sure doesn't fit in my KR. In the discussion group it didn't say this needed an adapter and doesn't look like it should but it doesn't mount. Does anyone know?

I went to Abilene Christian University and when we would play the Stephen F. Austin, all these people would be sitting in the stands with all these ax handles. We sure didn't want to pick a fight with those guys. ---------- Post added 10-01-14 at 02:40 PM ---------- Nice picture btw. Did you take that out in Brenham?

Thanks for all the help. found out my computer needed to be rebooted and it solved the storage problem. I've taken some really decent pictures today using the Rikemon P 1.2 50mm today. I'm not sure about the "P" on the lens. Seems like in the manual I saw something about it but haven't been able to find that again. It is a pain to try and get the focus right on this lens though. I started using LV and that seems to help.

I would love to shot pictures in Brenham. I got injured in 2003 and then got really messed up by the surgeon who can't practice medicine anymore. I had four surgeries to fix the one he screwed up. But I'm all better these days. I work six months out of the year training soldiers so I do have a lot of free time on my hands. I don't leave again until the day after Thanksgiving. Thanks for your kind words too. The hardest part about the military is retiring. It was an honor to serve.

OK. I bought these lens. Actually bought two of the SMC 1:1.8 55mm by mistake but seems like a great lens. Sears Auto 200mm f/3.5 Telephoto Manual Focus Lens for Pentax M42 Mount, SMC Takumar 55mm f2 Prime Lens, M42, Adapt To Sony E, M4/3's, Fuji, Dslr, Asahi Pentax SMC Takumar 1:1.8 55mm Screw Mount M42 Lens, Pentax Super-Takumar 55 mm F/1.8 Lens great glass, universal M42 screw mount. The problem is their mount is to small to fit on my KR. I thought they would all work since it had Pentax on them. I guess I need and adapter. I guess I need the adapter for screw mount M42? Anybody know? Thanks.

Thanks guys. I went mad on Ebay and bought a Asahi Pentax SMC Takumar 1:1.8 55mm Screw Mount M42 Lens, Sears Auto 200mm f/3.5 Telephoto Manual Focus Lens for Pentax M42 Mount, Asahi Pentax SMC Takumar 1:1.8 55mm Screw Mount M42 Lens, and a Ricoh Camera Lens Japan 50mm 1:2 Rikenon. Yes I know I bought two Takumar 1:1.8 55MM by mistake. Trouble is only the Rikenon works. Since they all said Pentax in front of them, I thought they would all work. I guess I need the screw mount M42? I actaully thought the M42 screw mount type lens worked on my KR without an adapter. I guess I was wrong. Thanks for the welcome.

Knowing just enough to be dangerous, I bought a Pentax KR. I wasn't real happy with the standard lens that came with it, so I found the third party lens section and went mad on Ebay. I bought a SMC Takumar 55mm f2 Prime Lens, M42, Adapt To Sony E, M4/3's, Fuji, DslrMount M42, Sears Auto 200mm f/3.5 Telephoto Manual Focus Lens for Pentax M42 Mount, and a couple of more that doesn't fit. They were all advertise to work on Pentax. So I'm figuring that I must need an M42 adapter. I'm sure no one else is this dumb but is that what I need? Just wanted to check before I purchased something else.
Oh and something else I'm ashamed to admit. I have been taking a ton of pictures and saving them on a little scandisk. I put the scandisk in the computer and then download them. Today I took a lot of pictures and when I tried to import them, it says there isn't anything on the card. But I go to my camera and press the button that lets you see all your pictures and they are all there. Does the camera have an internal storage device?
I feel like a second grader to dumb to raise his hand but decided to raise it anyway.

I've been using the site for about six months and decided to register. I retired from the army recently and was a Public Affairs officer for a long time. I use to take photos but generally I had some photographers that worked for me that took them for me. I haven't used a SLR in 20+ years and wanted to get started again. I bought a Pentax KR off ebay. MY first SLR camera was a Pentax but never learned to use it that well. I would like to find it now so I can see if the lens I use to have is a good one. I've gone while buying lens off of ebay. I was impressed with the 18-55MM AL lens that came with my camera. I have a Pentax 28-70MM that has given me some good results. Just bought a Asahi Pentax SMC Takumar 1:1.8 55mm, Sears Auto 200mm f/3.5 Telephoto, and a Ricoh Camera Lens Japan 50mm 1:2 on ebay and can't wait for them to get here so I can start experimenting.
