Captured this photo of the recent LADEE launch from my window sill in the Bronx. Freedom tower and Empire state building on the right. It's my first picture to get shared and posted by some popular organizations and websites! (Amazing Photos Of LADEE's Rocket Launch Into Space From NYC: Gothamist) Glad to be shooting with Pentax. I know its not the most in focus picture, but I had limited time to prep and the camera was literally balancing outside of my 9th story window.

I don't have a disc drive on my computer. Does anyone know if purchase of this product allows download and installation/activation of the downloaded software?

Since I haven't purchased an extended warranty before... We can purchase this from adorama even if our original camera purchase within 30 days was from say, hunts photo?

My story is the same as the OP:(. Ive tried charging the battery, reseting, etc
I'm not sure if its worth fixing at this point. I'm pretty happy with the k10d except for it's high ISO performance and lack of video option, if such a moment should arise. I love the dual dial ergonomics of the k10d so I'm not sure if I can go to a k30.. but I can't help to think about the nice lenses on my wish list that I could get by not getting the k5II...

yea i was concerned about the light sources as well when i was shooting. it was fluorescent kitchen lighting with an off color plastic covering. there were some bulbs that looked more off than others, maybe cuz of age. however, the differences between the 3rd and 4th portrait and landscape pictures, and the consistent horizontal line when in landscape mode, make me feel like it wasn't something with weird light sources. yea sorry about the jpeg compression i "exported to email" in lightroom.
the shutter speeds:
1/180
1/250
1/750
1/500
1/500

sorry for my poor descriptions. i am referring to landscape vs. portrait mode.
it does seem as if different parts of the sensor were WB'd to different temps. When taking the sample shot on manual mode, i would see a weird brownish area in the middle of the picture and sample to that. is there anything that could cause different parts of the sensor the be WB at different temps?

hey thanks for your replies.
please don't look at the focusing =p, these were just shots i selected to demonstrate the different colors, i had it on manual. there was no post processing done at all to these pictures. I am referring to the blue lines and the weird shadows that were intermittent and not part of the lighting when i took the picture.

so i wanted to write a more sensationalist title like "white balance gone wild" but i resisted.
has anyone ever seen this before? i was taking pictures with my k10d that i purchased last march with a fa 50mm 1.4 lens. It was working perfectly for the beginning of the night even with manual white balance.
i started noticing weird colored lines and it was really apparent when i tried to take a sample shot for the manual white balance. as you can see, its not crazy lighting that is causing the weird color abnormalities, it changes with the position of the lens. also, it was intermittent as other shots in between those seemed normal.
thanks for your input.

so this is a random question..
where should i keep my dslr when its not in use. or where do you keep yours?
currently its on the ground in the holster bag. not very aesthetic nor accessible.
any ideas for safe places or on the wall? or something that looks cooler?

thanks for the replies and welcomes. So i checked my uv filter and there was dust on that. so i shall clean that up.
in regards to the first three images, there are some areas that are more purplish, or greenish than others and none of these were taken with the filter. is something up?

haha. it was shot through a window, but with the window open. so i guess it wasn't shot through the window. that was shot with just my uv filter on. do other uv filters normally do this? (i.e. filter out the uv lights such that ufo's become visible)

hi. I have a k10d and just purchased a new FA 50mm f1.4 pentax lens recently. It is my first experience with a lens with such a wide aperture and it is amazing. I have noticed some abnormality in colors in some of the pictures however, with and without the uv filter I purchased with it. because of my limited experience I was wondering if anyone could help me determine if something is wrong. the last photo in the series has light artifacts in the sky and was taken with the uv filter on, is this normal? thanks!
