I'm selling my Pentax K200D and Pentax 16-45mm F4 lens. I'm the original owner of both items for a bit more than a year now. Both items are in great cosmetic and working condition. I'm trying to sell those as a kit, but also OK to sell both individually.
Willing to ship globally but prefer US buyers.
Asking price, OBO, plus shipping/paypal fees:
Pentax K200D (with 2GB SD card) - $340.
Pentax 16-45mm F4 - $220.
Buy as a kit - $550.
Here are some answers to questions received in PM.
1. Camera shutter count. Not sure how to find the precise number. I use lightroom exclusively and it shows 3837 photos (corrected) taken by this K200D.
2. The camera comes with box (with UPC cut for rebate). As for accessories, I'm not sure what's originally included but what you will get are: the camera, neck strap, body lens cap, USB cable, 2GB SD card, and user manual (I need to verify on the manual part later tonight).
Please see photos here. Please send me PM if interested.

Sure will let you know. Any good TC to recommend? Seems the only one from Pentax is this old 1.7X TC? I also remember sometime last year Pentax release a new DA 1.4X (or they claimed they would release). I can't seem to find any information on this. See this link for the announcement.

I'm thinking of upgrading my lens line up a bit on the long end and to K7. Currently I have DA* 50-135mm and DA* 200mm. Love both. The 200mm is a superb lens, but being a prime is less flexible. I'm thinking of selling 200mm and getting the pentax 1.7x teleconverter. With it, my 50-135mm would be 85-230mm, and supposedly with little loss in IQ.
Another way I'm thinking of is to buy 60-250mm and selling both 50-135mm and 200mm.
What do you guys think? The first option seems cheaper and even more flexble as I still have a fast 2.8 lens for low light.

Wow, nice shots posted in this thread. I have DA* 200mm and don't use it much right now. However, when I was doing more indoor concert/practice shots, F2.8 was a must. When I was in Canon mount, I even have the 135mm F2.
There is no question about it, DA* 200mm is a sharp fast and relatively small lens. You can always fault a prime as not being versatile enough though. My experience is that when you really need F2.8, you probably don't really need a zoom. The problem with a 70-200mm F2.8 is normally 1. it's huge; and 2. it's not so fast at wide end at all.
And agree on the teleconverter part, the pentax 1.7x is my next gear to aquire.

Do you need the reach or the extra stop? I think this depends on your planned usage of the lens. For example, if you are taking photos of some indoor events, kids basketball for example, 50-135mm would probably be better. Yet if you are more a bird shooter, the extra reach of 60-250mm would serve you fine.
I only have 50-135mm and are quite satisfied with it. Let me just say it's the smallest f2.8 zoom I've used. Size and weight are actually important criteria for me.

Seems you just need a small normal prime? How do you like the FA limiteds such as 31mm and 43mm? 55m on a digital body could be too long for a normal lens.

Man, I think you are missing big point here. You will need to define your expectation. There's no way any lens can take a "sharp" photo across the frame in your scenario (with variant depth in the scene). It's against physics, or at least the physics current imaging system's built on.
If you want to test formally, print out a chart, put it on a wall and take a photo straight at it. Make sure the chart is in a hyperpane of the lens. In this setup, all of the chart would be "in focus" (supposedly if you do it correctly) and crappy lens would have bad resolution on the border of the frame. At center, I guess there shouldn't be much of a difference whatever lenses you use.

Agree, plus I assume Sigma lens is for full frame, and F2.8 for FF would make it very heavy and big. It's better if Pentax can design a DA* for this focus range.
When I have 70-200mm F4 (Canon mount), I found most photos I took is actually at the 200mm end.
