Item Description
Somehow my previous listing was tagged as [SOLD], and I could not bring it back to [For Sale]. Thus I am re-listing the same K20D package here.
For sale is a Pentax K20D body (a genuine but special Pentax grip installed) and a Pentax D-BG2 battery grip. Shutter count is 12,356 according to PhotoME. Firmware is version 1.03.
I am the second owner of this fantastic camera and have taken good care of it. It is in a very good condition with a minor scuff on the battery grip (please see the photo) from the previous owner.
This camera body was serviced at the Pentax Forum (Pentax's official showroom / service center) in Tokyo JAPAN in December 2009 for the following:
1. Sensor and view finder cleaning
2. Autofocus sensor adjustment to solve back focus issue (now AF is correct)
3. Replacement of the original grip to the K10D/K20D special custom grip (paid 5,250JPY ~ 60USD fee)
Items included are
1. K20D body, battery charger, the original box, manuals, cables, CD-ROMs, etc.
2. Genuine D-BG2 battery grip (no box)
3. Total of 4 (yes FOUR!) genuine D-LI50 batteries (all used but in good working condition)
4. Pentax Remote Control F
I am asking 650USD (shipping included for the US destinations).
I will also consider selling the following packages:

For sale is a Sigma 10-20mm EX DC ultrawide zoom lens for Pentax K mount. I purchased this lens as new in February 2009 and used for less than 300 shots.
Please note that there is a tiny (~ a half millimeter diameter) spot on the front lens element where coating is off (no damage to glass itself). It was already there when I bought this lens new from an authorized dealer online, and I did not bother exchanging it as I could not see any effects on image quality. If you prefer an immaculate lens, then this is not for you.
Included with this lens is front/rear lens caps, a lens hood, an original box, a lens case, a user manual, all paper work, and a HOYA Pro1 Digital MC UV filter.

The third electrode of D-Li90 is for added safety; allowing for monitoring battery's temperature and shutting down electric circuits when the battery gets too hot. Now a lithium ion battery, with lots of energy packed in a tiny volume, is like a small bomb. You should have heard of a news where a poor Chinese guy was killed when his cell phone's lithium ion battery exploded. I would avoid buying third party batteries, especially when the battery cell is not Made in Japan.
So, I think added safety of K-7's battery is very nice. Also, the improved capacity is desirable now that K-7 takes videos which surely consumes lots of power.

My short answer to your question: No, it is not worth $1K. But I would highly recommend it if you can find a good used copy at ~$800 (I would prefer a "Made in Japan" copy).
I own 31mm along with 43mm and 77mm, and 31mm is my walk around lens being stuck on my K20D for, say, 80% of time. FA 31mm has a totally different character from FA 35mm. It's not as sharp as 35mm wide open, but gets very sharp at F/2.4~2.8. At F/4.5, 31mm renders amazingly clear images, adding sort of transparent and 3-D feels.
For me, the focal length of 31mm (46.5mm equivalent on 35mm films) is a perfect one-lens solution for shooting both scenery and people. I am not very comfortable using below 28mm for shooting people due to facial distortions. On the other hand, 35mm is sometimes a bit too long for indoor group portraits.
You could save some money by selling either of 43mm or 77mm. You would probably use 43mm a lot less after getting 31mm. I am exactly in this situation, although breaking up my FA limited collection is emotionally very tough.

For me, a body, zoom lens(es) covering from 18mm to 200mm, a fast prime lens, an external flash with a diffuser, and a good tripod are essential. But this is just what I think is essential for my style of photography. Also, I passed this line a while ago and now cannot part with "luxury" items I have collected:( I highly recommend buying a new item as a solution to your problems with your current gear. For example, after not being able to shoot satisfactory portraits indoor (i.e, low light) for a couple of occasions, it is probably a good time to buy an external flash with bounce/swivel functions.

Besides the filters mentioned by others, I think an external flash (like Pentax AF540 or 360) will come in handy under strong sun light. I expect I would use fill flash to ease hard shadow casts on my subjects' face.
