There was a discussion earlier this week about ND (neutral density) filters and I felt compelled to dig mine out. It was an impulse buy in a shop somewhere about a year ago, and I had only used it a few times and didn't like what I saw. To wit: I got it back out this weekend, and am pleased with what developed...   |

Here's one I shot recently with the DA 35mm f2.4. I was pleasantly surprised to find this one in the mix while processing later.

Nice set, I'm jealous you got there before I did! If I could offer one small bit of advice it would be to maybe try a bit of noise reduction on the 5th image. Unless you were going for a grainy look, then by all means keep it! Also- don't let anyone try to shame you for shooting in Program or full Auto mode- these cameras know what they're doing as evidenced by your dazzling chameleon shot, keep it up!

Here are two from our trips around the Big Island. First one is near the smoking caldera of Kilauea- I took it because the landscape looked a bit Hellish to me and I wanted to try to capture that. The second is a collapsed caldera of a volcano along the Saddle Road between Hilo and Kailua-Kona.
