sooc with positive profile. three days in a row of just using the gr, wondering if this heading towards another phase of "the gr could be my only camera, let's sell other gear" :) |

Was having some afternoon fun wandering with the GRIII, then trying out RAW transfer via Image Sync and processing in Snapseed on my mobile. I see the appeal.

I uploaded firmware, didn’t read instructions carefully, work fast once I unzipped and moved file to root directory on SD card. User failure.
Then loaded image sync on my iPad, followed instructions, and successfully transferred a few files. It worked. Yes, not a super robust application, but it works. Took me a few tries to get WiFi turned on. Though I was turning “on” but was turning off. Combination of bad labeling and user error. I’ll take 50% of failure. I have transferred both JPEG and Raw. Both worked. Then I loaded on iPhone, no further issues. Not super intuitive, but it works.

I think you're misreading the notes. "This version can conduct Viewing images via Wireless LAN and Image Transfer only."
Meaning those are the only functions that currently work.
Everything in the bullet list that follows, including Bluetooth and remote capture, etc., "will be announced when it is fixed", e.g. an upcoming release version.
Bluetooth and remote capture do *not* work in this version.

Yep, so this is Snap Focus, held at waist level, not looking at a viewfinder, I'm even looking away from the subject as I snapped, this is street, not DSLR photography … |
