The DA 300 has been a challenge getting used to a long FL again. Definitely out of my swim lane with this one.

Mounted on the K-1, this combo is a workout when walking around, but I'm going to keep at it and look for more birds and flowers for now :).

A decent month with the K-120mm. This lens has a long focus throw (~330°), and can sometimes be a challenge going from close focus to long distance in a hurry. Better planning from the user helps with this.
Other than that, this is a gem of a lens to play around with...back in the cabinet for now.

Checking in with the SMC 120mm f2.8. A great lens! My copy is a little soft at 2.8, but stopped down a click or two and it sharpens up nicely.

If I were into portraits, I would keep this lens on my camera all the time. MFD is pretty nice, and the smooth focus of the SMC lenses is as expected.

2nd month in a row with the 24mm. I still like the lens, but need to move on and with other focal lengths.

Decided on the K Series 120mm f2.8. I've used it once or twice, but needed something longish for a change.

In again. I think I need to set the 24mm aside for now and go with something else. Lens TBD

January with the K-24mm f2.8...

A solid build and smooth focus, just like other manual Pentax glass [check]. Close focus of just under 1 foot [check]. Sharp even at f2.8 [check]. It checked all my boxes, and was just fun to use.

That is what I was thinking. 24mm for 2024. I'll start Jan 1 with the 24, and by the end of the month if I am pulling my hair out, I can move on to another lens.

If I find a deal on the SMC 24 f3.5, or a TAK 24 3.5 I might sprinkle those in too.

I'm feeling about the same. I'm misses yesterday, and didn't want to throw up another safety today.

I have the rest of the year off, so maybe I can get a couple keepers to post.

I'm in for January. I need to decide between the DFA 100, or SMC 24 f2.8.
If I could pull it off maybe the 24mm for 2024.
