Oh I don't really want to do it generally speaking, but I just wanted to make sure that it was functioning after buying a used copy. And also, it is kind of fun to use the aperture ring as more of a novelty than any functional reason.

Dumb question - I'm trying to use the manual aperture ring with an FA77 on my K-5 iis. I have it set on the menu so that the shutter will release when the aperture ring is not set on "A". However, no matter what I do, in the photos I take the aperture is always wide open at 1.8. Am I just not able to adjust the aperture manually on teh K-5 iis?
