Hello:
To answer some of your questions...:)
1) Yes, it's the km model.
2) I called Pentax regarding the warranty, and they clearly stated that there would not be issues. Feel free to call and verify. :)
3) I'm selling it because I never use it! The roughly 500 actuations are due to walks around my house just snapping pictures. When not in use, it's stored in a camera bag (including the lenses). Just looking to get a p&s.

Honestly, there is not a blemish/scratch on this camera. It spent the vast majority of time in my camera bag on a shelf. Lenses are clean as well (no marks).

Hello:
The 2008 Photokina exhibition is less than a month away. Any rumors/gossip of any upcoming DSLRs that Pentax may reveal?
I know the K200d/K20d probably aren't due for refresh, buy any chance of seeing updates? I can possibly see the K200d being refreshed with live view, 12mp, etc.
Just interested in what you guys think :)
I know the sony camp is anticipating a full frame DSLR...

Hello:
I'm looking to purchase a 18-200-250mm lens. I've looked at Tamron, Pentax, and Sigma brands. Many of you have much more experience reviewing, testing, and actually using lenses from these manufacturers. Overall, I'm looking for a lens that provides the best IQ. Any recommendations?
Regarding what I usually photograph, I'm all over the place.:) From landscape, pets, niece running & playing kickball, beach, etc.
The Pentax lenses seem to be priced a little more than Tamron. Not sure if the added expense gets me a better lens...

Hey:
As mentioned in a previous thread, I was a large camera store today. Great opportunity to test and snap few pictures. I snapped a picture with a K200D and I looked at the rear LCD the picture seemed a bit dark, and the colors seemed off. I grabbed the K20D, snapped a few pictures, looked at the LCD, and the picture was clear and crisp. I turned up the brightness on the K200D and still not as bright and accurate as the K20D. :(
I tested the Nikon, Canons, and Olympus cameras and they were all clear, bright, and crisp.
So, does the K200d naturally have a darker LCD, or could it just be the display model? I'm thinking the K20D and K200D probably share the same LCD, right?
Is this important? To me it is. When I snap a photo, I like to look at it, or show others. I will probably stop at another store this weekend.

Hello:
I was at a VERY large camera store in NYC today. They had the BEST selection of DSLRs that I have every seen :)
I was checking out the K20D and K200D. The salesperson mentioned they just got the samsung gx20 in stock. He was pushing it a little bit, and I just listened.
The GX20 looked nice and felt a little different in my hands than the K20D.
So...anyone considering a GX20? :)
Curious, why would someone purchase a GX20 over a K20D?

Thanks everyone for the replies.
Any issues with the K200D focusing in low light situations?
I tested an olympus e520, and it seemed to hunt around a bit. The Nikon d300 was spot on. Obviously not a fair comparison, but it was amazing to see the difference.

B&H Photo is located by penn station. Tomorrow, I'll stop by and check them out again. Just some other questions:
Would you say the iQ is better with the K200D or XSI? Is it to hard to judge?
Any issues shooting the K200D in low light situations?
I checked out cameralabs review. I was blown away by the level of detail with their test results. The K200d looked great! They used a DA 18-250mm lens for the test. Not sure if that was a major advantage over the other kit lenses.

Hello:
I've been going back and forth with DSLRs for a bit. Testing and trying them out. I had the K20D on my mind, but not comfortable spending that kind of money (regarding my 1st post a month back, I did go back to the camera store).
Anyway, this thread is not to bash pentax in anyway, but really understand why you may have choosen the K200D over the Canon XSI, or Olympus E520. If you shop around, you can find these cameras within a $100 of each other, so price isn't a factor for me.
Listing the stats is easy:
The canon has larger lcd, more pixels (not always an advantage), liveview, yadda yadda
The pentax has built in image stability, better build quality, and so forth
But curious, did the pentax feel better to you? Did you like the lens selection better with pentax? Was it just to be a little different? :p
I'm just trying to understand. I'm sure others were faced with the same dilemma...
