Here is a report on the DIY project I was working last week.
In an essence, it is Kodak Vest Pocket AKA KVP mated to Pentax K200D DSLR:
The KVP has a round opening in the back with removable cover to clean the lens:
I opened the port and put glued velcro strips on the back around it:
Now, this is a universal connector AKA "Black poodle" AKA BP: K-mount type T-ring, some glue, some plastic and again, velcro strips:
To assemble the camera, the BP has to be installed on any K-mount camera, then KVP should be velcro'ed to the BP and voilą, Kodak Vest Pocket digital is ready for action!
Images taken with the camera:
100% crop from the picture above:
The one-element meniscus lens has strong soft effect if the aperture is wide open:
If the bellows of KVP are extended the lens will work in a macro mode:
Few points:
- The focus adjustment is done by extending or compressing the KVP's bellows
- Shake reduction is working
- Camera is working in A, P or M modes; the lights is controlled by KVP's aperture
- The composition of the image is done the usual SLR-like way, I did not use KVP's small viewfinder though it is possible (with a tripod)
You can find few more images >here<
What is this hybrid - Kodak Vest Pocket with digital back out of K200D? Pentax K200D with KVP as a lens?
I think it all depends on how you dilute your whisky/vodka :D
Cheers!!

I use SafeSync on my K200D with Sunpak 383 connected by pc cord all set on manual and it is firing with no problem if shutter speed is right i.e. under 1/180 (knock-knock on wood). Is K10's flash shoe different design?

RAW files are 12-bit per channel based on 14-bit A/D.
That's all I know.

The "worst" I ever had was my DIY monocle lens.
It had been made for manual Minolta at the time but can be easily adopted to any mount.
Here is an example: |

Yes you're right, $99 is more realistic estimate. But it is great deal anyway and I finally bought it today. K200D+18-55mm+16-45mm+grip. So I'm almost pentaxian now:) still have to wait for the camera to arrive though:)

If you have the lens you can sell 18-55mm AL II (presumably for ~$170) and will enjoy your beloved body for $536-$170=$366
