Hi, I just recently purchased a used 540FGZ to use with my K3. I a complete newb at using external flash and was wondering if anyone knows of any in depth videos/articles that are specific to the this camera flash combination. I've read through the manual but I'm still having trouble understanding how to set up and use all the different modes on the flash. I would like to be able to understand and fully take advantage of the manual mode. Any comments/suggestions are welcome. Sorry if this should be in the Flash and lighting section. Thanks!

I use, and really like, a Logitech keyboard/mouse combo at work now and this was the closest I could find to that particular model. I deleted the second link as I think I've decided to go ahead and stick with the i5.

Thanks for the feedback, I checked and the mobo does have 6 total USB 3.0 headers with 2 being in the front and 4 in the rear and I also changed the i5 to the non-K version as I do not plan to overclock. Do you think the i7 is worth the extra +/-$100?

As I said, I'm using the back AF button and not the half-press shutter button method.

I recently purchased an SMC Pentax-M 50mm F1.7 and really love the quality. I use back button AF, I hold it down and get my subject in focus, hear the beep and see the center AF point light up (I have it set to single point center), take the picture, etc. Sometimes, and I'm not sure if it is always, the camera will beep multiple times even after I take the shot and release the AF button. Does this simply mean that once the camera is focused if I were to point it at some other subject the same distance away it will beep and light up the AF point in the VF letting me know that my subject is in focus?

So after reading some more it appears that you can actually change the settings on the III as well as the IV when using the YN560-TX.

I'm completely new to flash so it's very possible that I'm misunderstanding, it's pretty hard to understand the specs and information on the YN products as the English isn't so good sometimes. Thanks for the help anyway!

So best choice would be to get the III and a transmitter instead of the IV and transmitter? My understanding was that with the YN560-TX you could change the settings on the IV but it would only trigger the III and you would still have to change the settings on the flash itself. Is this not the case?
Thanks for the quick response!

I've been looking into buying an off-camera flash for the first time and I'm thinking about Yongnuo. They have the new YN560-IV which has a radio built in that allows you to remotely change the manual settings on it when paired with the YN560-TX if I understand correctly. My questions are: 1. Since this is a manual flash and the YN560-TX manual radio trigger is what you use to change the settings on the flash, it will be compatible with any camera, correct? I would be using it with the K-3. 2. Would this be a good value/quality flash as a first? 3. Does anybody have any experience with either the two YN products listed mentioned or any other YN products? If so what are your thoughts on the quality/value?

Hi everybody. As the title states, I'm thinking about building my own PC to handle PP and just for basic home usage/maybe some online classes. Do any of you guys have any suggestions on specs I'd need to handle Photoshop and Lightroom. I more than likely will not be doing much if any video editing and probably no graphics intensive gaming. Any suggestions on processor, RAM, graphics card(I have seen some people saying you don't really need a great graphics card for just processing images), hard drive. I'm hoping to build one in the $500 range, hopefully no more than $750. If this is the wrong place to post a thread like this I'm sorry, otherwise any and all help/opinions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

So my laptop is probably +/-7 years old, slower than Christmas, and the screen is going out. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good computer for PP that won't break the bank? Also, what is the best all around PP software for the money or the best comparable free software? Any and all info will be appreciated! Thanks!

Where do you see them frequently on sale? I've pretty much decided on the SanDisk Extreme Pro, just trying to find the best price as always.
Thanks everyone for the quick and informative help.

Thanks for all the great input so far. My budget is probably $200 or less but possibly more. Another way of putting my question would be; If you could only have one prime and one zoom lens to cover all your possible photography what would they be?

Hi everyone. I just ordered my wife a K3. She will be using it for mainly portrait shots (i.e. birthdays, family photos, baby pics) with a possibility of weddings in the future. As I'm definitely a newb when it comes to photography. I've read quite a bit on the more technical aspects but it's pretty hard to understand just by reading and as I've never done any photography I was wondering if I could get some input from some more experienced photographers as to what would be a good high quality lens to start out with for these situations that wouldn't break the bank? Any and all input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
