Thank you all for your recommendations. I've not used a remote with my camera before. Look forward to the experience on vacation. My k5lls continues to delight me.

Greetings
Can anyone recommend a remote shutter release for my K-5IIs? I anticipate doing some traveling and I'd like to put myself into some of the scenics.
Thank you

What a wonderful question! If my memory serves me (a challenge on occasion), my first Pentax experience was with a girlfriend's Spotmatic sometime back in the late '60s or early '70s. It was a wonderful camera. I had been using a Mamiya with a Vivitar zoom. Sometime later (years), I decided to go digital. Frankly I chose Pentax because it seemed to be the "underdog" to Canon & Nikon and I remembered that first Pentax experience (and the girlfriend). So Pentax stayed with me but not the girlfriend. "Thanks for the memory."

Thank you again.
I'm so pleased that so many of you responded to my problem. It seems to be working now and I've ordered a new battery. On that purchase, thank you Bob for your explanation on battery life.

Thank you all for your suggestions.
Mon Uncle Vanya. I simply don't have the dexterity to do my own project.
BUT, I took the battery out and have begun to recharge it. Put my back up battery in and now it works. Didn't earlier with that same battery. Ah, the mystery of cameras.
I'll order new battery and the power cord for the camera (K-AC132) from our Forum's favorite dealer.
I'm very fond of this camera and it has served me we'll. It fits so nicely in my hand. Very solid feel.
Thank you again

Greetings.
My K5iis will not power on. I've changed the batteries. Charged them as well. The problem persists. I've had my camera for several years. I am not a heavy user. I really hope I can fix this problem as I'm very happy with the camera. Being retired, I'm not sure I can afford a new camera. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Thank you

this looks like a studio portrait. I imagine the dialogue went like this. "hi, come in and settle into a lovely cross your arms pose. Perfect!"

Number 13 get's my vote. Drama! B&W, available light, heavy rain, and the tension of the bicycle crossing the path of the car - unresolved.
thank you for all these lovely photos

Greetings K2 Its users. Can I set my camera to take monochrome (b&w) photos? Thank you. I'm not sure if this is where to post my questions. Could someone please redirect as appropriate. ---------- Post added 03-18-18 at 06:25 PM ---------- sorry that should read K5 Its, not K2.

Thank you. At the moment there's a $70 difference for the Pentax unit. Something about staying in the Pentax family appeals to me . . . of course :).

I hope, I'm in the correct forum. I'm looking to purchase a flash unit for my K5 iis. Any thoughts about the Pentax AF360FGZ II compared to the Metz 52 AF-2. I'm a casual photographer with 7 grand kids. Thank you in advance.

Thank you very much, Adam. I've seen both advertised and wanted to get any updated battery as a backup to the original.

i have a Pentax K5iis that I purchased from you awhile back. What is the difference between the DL 190 and the DL 190E batteries?
Thank you in advance for clearing this up for me.

I hope I'm entering my introduction in the right place. I've been accessing this forum on and off for years so I felt it was time to join.
I've been using a K20D for some time now. I bought it at the time based on many observations I read here. I've never been disappointed in the camera or the lens I acquired (SMC Pentax DA 55-300, SMC Pentax DA 16-50, Tamron SP Di AF 90, Macro).
I've begun to look for a flash unit and that prompted me to return to our forum. I've been looking at the Pentax AF360 FGZ II and hope to get some thoughts here about the unit and how it might work with my K20D. My photography experience is pretty basic and with six grandchildren I really enjoy a new level of photography.
Thank you
czl :)
