I use both it all depends on the conditions.
Most of my digital outdoor shoots have been done using a 70-210 or 28-135mm lens.
Indoors with digital I use a 28-85mm with flash. Primes when I do not use flash.
For the most part I go for convenience when I shoot digital so zooms make more sense.
With film I always use primes. But that is due to using system that have no zooms.

A shot with my Mamiya C33 and a roll of Fuji Neopan 400. Scanned from a print done on Ilford mgiv rc pearl paper.
I really like the look a yellow-green filter gave the image. |

Shot from film roll #1 finally posted. Got extremely busy but do have a few shots from a second roll that will be posted soon. Now I need to start a third roll. As I ended up suing most of the second roll in a photoshoot in my studio with different lenses.

Will be posting my first roll photos tonight.
Seems I got an issue with focusing the lens. It seems that the lens does not focus properly for long distance. It seems to want to focus short when properly aligned to what the focusing screen wants. But it does show up properly on the film. So I just got to go my the focus scale on the lens when doing long distances

@pepperberry farm
Nice I just did my first paid shoot two weeks ago. Engagement photos for a co-worker. Since I had no idea on what price to charge. I must likely under charged but that is a big learning point. As the more paid shoots you do the more you can standardize your price. In the beginning it is a major feeling out time to see what works.
My advice Bring a flash or something to smooth out lighting. I can't stress that enough. It will make your life easier.
And I finished my first roll. Will be picking it up Thursday from my local lab.

@winder thanks for the input.
Yeah keeping busy on social media will help a lot. It has been a weak point for me.
As for people to shoot to keep busy. I've been having a bit of a hard time in Minnesota. But I don't think I was looking in the right places.

So about a year or so ago I started shooting local wrestling and getting free entry. That has let me to a few paid gigs as if late. So I'm now looking to take a more aggressive approach to classifying my photography as a professional/paid service.
I have all the basics ready business cards, social media pages and a digital and physical portfolio of my work. I already have the mind set to not work for free. Unless I'm doing a portfolio trade. Now I'm just ready to take the next step.
I just at a bit of a loss in how to get away from amateur photography and enter my name in the professional realm.
This would be mainly for portrait and event shooting.

I was able to get my film shots in all 3 days.
I am marking down what frames were shot each day. So when I do my group post of each roll I post the correct shot(s).

I'll try to be in again.
I want to use my new Pentax PC 330 and it's 26mm f6.3 plastic lens. I'm really interested in how this simple fixed focus camera preforms.
If that fails I'll be in with my spotmatic and pentacon 50mm f1.8
Now the hard part what film should I use?
