Great idea stop down with half press shutter button! However mine 15mm is an A-version so I should be able to command diaphragm in body. In fact, at lens mounted, camera recognizes it! But the actuator cannot close diaphragm cause lever is cutted.

Wow thank u! I'll try to disassemble by myself before. If it was too complex, I will see what to do.

Thanks for the idea! I have some friends very skilled in welds. But firstly I have to pull out the lever. I have to buy a good screwdriver to do that. In the next days I'll try.
I will keep you informed about.

It is not the first time that I see Pentax lenses with cutted lever!! An year ago I saw a NICE K50/1.2 with no lever :( I'm angry with Canon full frame users from now

I will try to disassembly it. Then, I will compare lever and I will decide what to do..
Ps. I don't want to return it (for various reasons)..

A nice A 15/3.5 :(
I bought it a week ago and yesterday finally i tested it. Result: it behaves like m42 lenses, closing diaphragm ring, diaphragm blades close, even in A-position!
So I looked at the lever and it was cutted. What a shame! :( I'm soooo sad.. The rest of the lens is perfect! Like new!
So, can I try to disassembly the lens to examine the lever? I disassembled 3 or 4 lenses until now..
For sure I can use this lens as well (what a nice lens!!!) but I wish use A-position!

Hi all :D I have a quite nice lens that have diaphragm lever cutted. I think Canon user cutted it to use pentax lens in their camera! Argh! :hmm:
However I want to replace with a new one. That's the question: Have all pentax lenses the same lever? I was thinking to buy a cheap broken lens to replace lever in my lens. Can I?
Ps. Sorry for bad English LoL :o

Thanks you all! The Pentax-A 15/3.5 is the last arrived :D And I have not had time to find out pros and cons of this legendary lens yet :o
HopeI to use it as soon as possible! :) However, my favorite focal lenghts are mid-tele.. I'm so noob with ultra grandangle

HI all guys! I'm from Italy and I'm Pentaxian for two years, before with a k-r and now with a k-30.
Currently I have DA*16-50, A15/3.5, Cyclop 85/1.5, A50/1.4 and Jupiter-9 but I had many other lens :) But LBA is is always lurking!!!
I love Pentax for compatibility with old K-mount and m42 lens, tropicalization and high iso! There is no competition with other brand :D
Greeting! :D
