A few images from the Middle Fork area of Gila Wilderness area, New Mexico. Experimenting with black and white conversions using RawTherapee. Not sure if it's the right tool or these are suitable images for such exercise, but I am having fun playing with a lot of different settings. One amazing place and an amazing piece of software somehow linked together through the eyes of a novice hiker/photographer/image editor. :-)

I have the K-x manual in print. It's not by any means in mint condition. It's had a little water damage, and all dry now. I can send you a few pictures if you are interested. I wouldn't mind shipping to Canada, so long as the payment is via Paypal. Let me know.

Thanks for the welcome. Wilderness Wildlife Week sounds like a great initiative by the local tourism board. Wonderful idea, really. The website has been bookmarked, and I'll have to remember to check out Pigeon Forge when I'm in the vicinity. :-)

The first picture made me imagine how I would react if that thing was snarling at me and, worse still, coming at me at full speed. If I had enough wits left to react, that is.That snarl would have melted my legs. LOL.

Been a Pentax user for the entirety of my DSLR journey, and just recently introduced myself to the K-5 IIs. Test image of my kid at ISO 3200 is mind-blowing clean. Much to learn, hopefully on the forums here. :-)
