I am considering buying the Sigma 100-300 f4, has anyone tried out this lens yet? I want to know if the Auto focus speed is respectable on this lens. :rolleyes:

I was able to try the Pre-Production DA* 60-250mm in a Local Camera Expo, Has a good weight on it. The Lady there told me to pull out the memory card before she handed me the lens so I cant post any test shots but I was able to take pictures of the lens itself. Yes the lens Extends when you zoom it which is kinda a deal breaker for me. I had a little problem with the Auto Focus at first and it seems my K200D wont read the correct f-stop, my view finder keeps on blinking with the "F--" sign. I have to pull out the lens and re-attach it again and I also attached a photo of the new ring flash.

Getting these lenses for sure next month!
Pentax DA* 16-50mm
Pentax DA* 50-135mm
Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 + X2 TC
Might get a Pentax D FA 100m Macro (If the my local camera store gives me a good discount)
Is this a good combination ?
Please Advise.

Seriously speaking I dont want to move out of the Pentax Brand for some reason, maybe thats the 1st Camera name I knew when I was a kid. anyway if I want the best of my brand can offer then I might get the K20D. I'll see when I try it out.

Thanks for the replies, I will try to go to a store later on to check out the K20D. Im not here to talk about my opinions on an entry level camera and a high-end camera, Im just here asking if its worth it to Upgrade to a K20D is it significantly faster and better than its little brother?

I recently purchased a K200D with a Grip last June and so far I'm happy with it. I also bought a 50mm f1.4, Sigma 24-70mm and a Sigma Flash. I also have the 2 Kit Lenses 18-55 II and 50-200mm. (I Pretty much spent $2000) not including the memory and batteries.
Now . . . my friend which is a Professional Photographer uses a Nikon D2xs and Fuji S5pro (he recently ordered a D3 but I haven't tried it yet.). He has some really high quality lenses and accessories on his arsenal.
I tried both D2xs and S5Pro and I was shocked in awe the auto focus is ridiculously fast than my K200D. Now I want to change to a different camera (yes I know he is "evil")
my question is does the K20D matches the snappiness of these said cameras? if so I want to upgrade, is it worth it ?

thanks for the replies guys! i decided to get it. since the tamron isnt available in my area then Im just gonna get the Sigma instead. will post a newbie review soon after my vacation in Winnipeg.

Just got the Camera yesterday. I have a quick question about their term "Weather Resistant" can I use the camera on a light rain ? and how bout the Pentax Lenses are they Weather Resistant too ?

I decided to get a K200D It will arrive hopefully next week! I'm very excited. :lol:
