I ended up using my step father's auto110 on our trip to Scotland. He'd had a Spotmatic (among some large formats)when he did portrait work in the early 70s, and had bought the 110 for the trip. He was why I ended up using Pentax. He showed me how to read the lens reviews and what to look for. I loved it, and ended up buying a K1000 not long after we got back. I added a few lenses to my kit including some screw mount ones. Those went everywhere with me and held up fine in the heat and cold. I added a Super Program when I was in my 20s and then kids put a damper on my photo budget. I still love how light that body is. My oldest son ended up with a iST when he reached his teens and we were both impressed that all my old lenses functioned with it. A couple years later, I got a deal on a k20d which I'm still using. (keeping an eye out for a deal on something newer). I was most impressed with the k20 shooting an early season bike race in the snow. Water resistance is pretty nice, I'd have been scared to use the super program in that. I like the location of the controls on that with the newer lenses, although some of my older lenses throw that off.

Are you using the same lens on all the camera bodies ? I have one lens that had the aperture not stopping down for the exposure.

Unfortunately, even as PETA loses this case, they win with any attention.
They get upset with old Dutch named streams by me - they are all names ending in 'kill'. Catskill seems to trouble them deeply. I don't feel a need for violence towards felines when I'm near there, or hear the name. I don't get it.
Hopefully, the photographer in question can recover his lost income from them.
Are the monkeys able to sign a model's release ?

To be more specific, I was using the RF-603 II C version when I was checking the voltage.

I did a search and didn't see anything definitive, I hope someone else finds this helpful. If everyone knew this already, just ignore it, I can be a little slow.
I ordered a pair of RF-603 II, and a YN-560 IV to use with my new to me k20, as my older auto-thyristor flashes had trigger voltages in the mid-200s. I was able to find that the 603 II had a safe trigger input of up to 300V, and thought I'd meter their output with my old flashes mounted to the radio trigger. I get 3 volts. The thyristor flash works just fine mounted to the trigger in the camera's hotshoe. Sort of handy (even if it looks awkward) for reasonably quick flash work. Cheaper than buying just the safe-sync as well, unless you had a voltage over the 300 limit on the RF-603 II.

Would an O-ring work if you slid it up over the shoe on the flash so it took up the space under the wheel ?

I ended up removing some corrosion from the blades. It was the last/worst step. I did check the arm, etc. first. Then again, this Sigma was pretty simple inside and I had little to lose.

I ended up fixing an old (30 years) Sigma of mine that had sticky blades. Those were my symptoms as well, overexposed here and there, as the aperture wouldn't stop down to the correct stop. I fixed it myself after searching for some insight/direction on this forum. It was straight forward enough, and I'm OK with small detail type work. I had little to lose as well. I wouldn't do it myself if I had doubts about the sort of work. I believe that I searched for 'lens disasembly' here. There are also some folks that offer this as a service.

I was trying to find some color on a drab day right after getting the K20. I'd like to get back to this with more light and a smaller aperture. |

No battery, but powered by a small nuclear cell. Good luck getting one thru customs.
I hope it's typical Pentax. They're sort of the Subaru of cameras. Weird and functional.

You wouldn't happen to be near Drumnadrochit or Foyer ? My family visited there in the early 80's when I was a kid.

So I got the K20D and have been tinkering with it and my old lenses. I found my old Sigma 35-70 had a problem with the aperture. I found several posts and links here for dissembling and repairing similar lenses. So I spent 3 and a half hours yesterday in the lens fixing some corrosion on the blades. It's back together and working again. Not exactly a cost effective repair, but time was the only cost. I haven't found any problems with my other lenses, so I don't know why that one had a bug.
Next, I'm going to get a moth out of my son's Tokina zoom...
Thanks everyone !

Hi - I'm getting back to photography after a long break. I used to shoot lots of film way back before kids, and have some decent 1980s Pentax equipment. My oldest picked up a used iST last year, which got me interested again. I just ordered a used K20D, and am eagerly awaiting it. I know my old lenses will work as they did before, I used them to take some senior pictures with the iST.
I did just see the cautions about older non-Pentax flashes. I checked the 2 I have, both are around 200V, so I'll be hunting up some replacements, eventually.
Any advice for flash that would work well for on and off camera portraits ?
