I bought 24 70 from b&h last month and had a same issue. I ended up sending it back for another copy. Right side was soft. Second copy has focusing problem. But I decided to keep it. My 15 30 is also set at +2. Maybe these lenses are tamron lenses, and have some issues?
DFa 70 200 is dead on accurate.
I wish Pentax develop its own 24-70 * lens, matching build quality and optic of dfa 70 200. but I guess Pentax has more other ff lenses to worry about before they get to 24 70 star lens.

I took k1 and Pentax 70 200 to my son's school orchestra concert, and I was blown away. All the sudden, I'm getting these more than useful 1600-3200 ISO shots that were impossible with my k3. Noise cleans up really nice in lightroom. I would say k1 SR is significantly improved from k3. It's worth every penny. K1 and dfa 70 200 is perfect combination.

You'll have loosen the lock button up quite a bit then push on it. The mount will slide out.

Limited trios dead on.
Dfa 70 200 is also dead on.
Dfa 15 30 on mine is at -2.
Dfa 24 70 is all over.
May be because last two lenses from tamron.

I have 28" 4k monitor.
Love 4k, but the only problem is the monitor size.
I think for 28" screen, 4k is overkill.
If you really want 4k, I would recommend bigger than 28".

I just received this lens from b&h.
It's going back tomorrow.
Right bottom was noticeably soft.
Moderate back focusing problem.
I'll be ordering a second copy.
Does anyone have qc issues on new dfa line?

I have dfa 70 200 AND tamron 70 200.
Pentax is built like a tank. Just for build quality, I don't think any lens can touch this one. Not even canon 70 200.
For optical perspectives, I don't think it is 2 or 3 times better than tamron. It's way better, but not $1000 better.
I'm keeping Pentax.
I think it's worth THAT much more money just for build quality alone.
AF on k3, I don't think Pentax is faster than tamron's screw drive. May be sigma is faster? But Pentax 70 200 gets there with confident. No hunting, or micro adjusting.
BTW my tamron lens is on eBay for sale less than $500 if you're interested. Shop around. You can get tamron at great price.

Tamron screw drive. Older one.
Dfa is sharper, better iq for sure.
I just don't know about the af speed on dfa dc motor. It is faster than my da 20-40 limited. K3's screw drive is fast for what I'm doing.
I'll be posting some close focus pics at 200mm between two lenses.
Pentax frame is a lot wider than tamron. From what I understand, Canon 70 200 is true 200mm at close focus. I don't know about sharpness between Canon and Pentax, but initial sharpness testing looks darn good.

Both copies in my hand.
Dfa 70 200 exhibits focus breathing quiet a bit. I meant a lot. Also, focusing speed feels little slower, too.
I'll be keeping my copy for better iq and wr, but little disappointed to be honest.
Anybody has any first impression on this new lens?
Do you guys think that it's $1000 better than tamron lens?

New pentax 15 30 is rebadged tamron 15 30, which is $1190 in canon or nikon mount with vc.
I've been looking for Pentax 20 35.
No luck so far.😞

B&H has this lens in stock.
I just placed an order. It says I should get it no later than Monday.
We'll see. ---------- Post added 03-17-16 at 05:50 PM ---------- If I get this one Monday, it will be a long wait for me on k1 that will most likely happen late late April.

I really hope for price drop. But I can kind of see why they're charging premium on this lens.
There's no good FF wide zoom.
I wish the price comes down little bit. So I can sell my sigma 8 16 for this lens. Maybe around $1099?

Tamron 70 200 gets my vote.
I shot speedskaters indoor.
No problem with AF speed.
For night football or indoor sports, 2.8 helps a lot. Your da limiteds are also not weather sealed.

I bought this one at $380, now I got it in my hand. Superb build quality. At $360, they are just giving it away.
I honestly think that it can't go any lower.

some more pictures. I don't know if I like bokeh on this one, though. I had two copies, and spent a while on AF adjustment. AF is quite slow, especially in low light condition. But I find it to be consistent. I think this lens is not for everybody, but it's worth giving a try. Interesting lens.

Okay, I've been playing around with sigma dock for a while.
I did ran in to a problem.
Now it focuses perfectly at those four focal lengths(35,28,24, and 18mm)
I have some issues at about 20 - 22mm. It has slight ff. ---------- Post added 05-16-15 at 12:49 AM ---------- And it has bf issues between 0.8 to about 1.6 m distance. Subject beyond 1.8m, I do not have problem
focusing.
Dock only gives 16 total adjustments. I just wish they give us more adjustment points. ---------- Post added 05-16-15 at 01:04 AM ---------- oh, and one more thing, it seems like I get way, way better keeper rate if I set my focus at infinity first, then point something close, and viceversa.
In other words, if focus throw travels more before it locks on a subject, i get a good result.
i'll be testing more on those troublesome areas. But if I stay away from those focal length (20 - 22) at .7-1.6m focus distance, I have a confidence. I'll be shooting my friend's wedding, and I'm bringing sigma 17 50 2.8 and 18 35.
We'll see what happen tomorrow.

I would have to agree with you, MadMathMind.
This lens does have some weird focusing problem, and I'm willing to explore more on this issue.
My point here is that IF it's in focus, I think sigma is sharper at the center than FA 31 at 1.8.
Don't get me wrong, I still love my FA31.

Get sigma 18 35 1.8
Highly recommended.
I still consider this one as prime lens.
