Shooting center weighted averaging was a poor choice for that scene. Just admit it, learn from it and move on. Phrases like, "I don't really like matrix" accomplish nothing and are a good part of the reason for your poorly exposed shot.

Somehow these days it just feels wrong to waste any film. For only 3 bucks, just add one on to your next order from B&H, or wherever, and you'll have it if you need it. :D

Had the same thing happen to me. Shot about 1/2 a roll of film before I figured it out. Needless to say, those shots didn't turn out too well.

Lots, which is one reason your picture caught my eye. I work near the Port of Tacoma and see them bringing in freighters all the time.

I just took a trip to Vegas, my first with film in years, spaced out and twice went through airport security with about 10 rolls of film, only one of which was loaded in a camera. Is the film automatically ruined or do I just have to take my chances, expose it then send it in for processing? Thanks for any info.

Thanks guys. I've really been enjoying shooting the film. The Spottie in partciular, really throws me back to the basics of photography. Lots of fun.

These are the first shots I've posted on the Pentax Forums. I've just gotten back into film with an old heirloom Spotmatic and this PZ-10, which I've had for 20 years or so but haven't used since going digital in '04. I just dug it out of storage and found that it was 5 shots into a roll of Kodak Gold 200. Both of these shots are recent, taken since I found the camera. I have the 35-80 and 100-300 lenses with the camera. Not a great camera or great glass, but fully capable of good image quality if one is aware of their limitations. Both of these were taken in P mode.

Pentax PZ-10, SMC 35-80 f/4-5.6, expired Kodak Gold 200.

These were taken with the 100-300. I used a CP for the Mt Rainier shot. I'm not sure what the scratches are from, maybe the filter. Dwayne's photo did the processing and scanning and did a great job. This was my first time using them:

Another taken with the 35-80:

Wow, the volume of water coming out of the dam is amazing. The people on top of the dam really give it scale.

These two are great, especially the one of the engine/prop. You must've keep meticulous records while shooting.

Given all that happened in that decade, it's amazing we can say that now. I miss the 70's too.

I recall taking my PZ-10 there once with a 100-300mm lens and not getting any grief about it, but that was some years ago and that particular Pentax lens wasn't exactly intimidating. That rule probably wasn't even in place at the time. Regardless, there's a lot of good photo ops at that ballpark.

Both the NFL and MLB have been implementing some pretty dumb rules the last few years. You can't even take a pack into Century Link any more.
