Hello there,

I had an optically awesome 16-50 DA* lens, but the SDM is faulty. I could manage to deactivate the SDM function using the debug mode, but I was unable to proceed with my K3 nor K3 II. Fortunately a friend of mine got a a K5 and manage to do it with its camera.

The problem was I could not copy the lens EPROM files on the SD Card on the K3's as I could on the K5.
While pressing OK on LENS ROM DAT SD=> CAMERA, nothing happened on the K3's (worked on the K5).

Its much less urgent as my 16-50 is now screwdrived-AF but just in case I need to disable SDM motor on my other DA* lenses I own, if any of you have a tip , that would be nice to share it.

Thank you in advance.
BR

Hi,

I am a quite new Pentax user.
I used to have a Sony DSC R1 that accomplished great pictures in my hands but the Dslr being much more affordable than years before, its another world and I now enjoy my K5 bodies and lenses (from DA* to M lenses).

This forum is just a must-to-bookmark for any pentax user !

Cheers !
