Remember price posted in the USA are without taxes unlike the european countries. However a high euro vs the dollar (currently around 1.37 USD )doesn't help...

vignetting problem

Hi,

To get one stop down I can go either from f/4.5 to f/6 or from 1/90 to 1/125 correct? Is it better to adjust the aperture or shutter speed to fix the vignetting problem, or it doesn't matter as long as I go one stop down?

Hello,

I am attaching a picture I took with my 18-250 mm lens. You can notice the vignetting problem. From what I read in this forum it is a common problem with this lens, however I would like to know how to fix the problem or even better how to anticipate this type of issues by setting up my camera properly. It occurs when I am close to the 18 mm focal distance. Currently to fix the problem I use a processing software. I shoot in RAW format.
Thanks

Detail of the shot:
body K10D
lens : 18-250mm pentax f3.5-6.3 DA
ISO 100
focal lenght 23 mm
F/4.5 1/90sec
no filter, no hood.

Hello,

Thanks a lot for all these inputs. It seems like a 16-45 or a 12-24 seem to be 2 good options.

I thought I could get something for around $300 (my original budget). Do you think I can put a fish eye to my 18-55mm ? would it be cheaper ?

If I spend $600 on a DA 14mm, would I be happy with the result?? Do you have this lens?

Thanks.

Hello,

I am going to a car show in a couple of weeks. I would like to buy a wide angle lens for this event so I can take close pictures of the cars and prevent the risk of having people walking in front of my camera all the time. What would you recommend?

Right now I have a k10d and an Ist*-D. The lens I have is a 18-55mm DA.

Thanks for your help.

k10d and flash af-360fgz

Hello bjorsa,

Thanks for your comments. I set my flash at +1.0 and I get a much better result, acceptable I would say. But I can only go up to +1.0 not +2.5. I ajust this by pressing the Fn button and then I go in the flash menu. Is there another place to change that?

Thanks a lot.

P.S: I upgraded my firmware from 1.0 to 1.3 without a better result...

k10d and flash af-360fgz

Hello,

I recently replaced my Ist*-D by a k10d. I have a af-360fgz flash. I have noticed that I can't get the same result with my k10d when I use this flash. It seems like I am always underexposed. I never had this problem with my Ist*-D. I tried a bunch of stuff like P mode, green mode, different ISO, speed, aperture etc...

My set-up on the flash is P-TTL with A.Zoom, I use the same lens on the k10d and Ist* which is a 18-55mm DA.

Can someone help. I don't understand why I have such difference in performance.

Thanks a lot.

Gerald

Hello,

I am new on this forum. I took this picture of a spinning wheel. I used my k10d with a pentax 18-55mm. I was on the B mode with tripod of course...
As a beginner, all your comments will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hello,

My name is Gerald I live in West Seneca, NY.

I recently replace my pentax Ist*D for a K10D. I always loved Pentax because I found the pentax's quality/price ratio great.

I would qualify myself as a beginner in the photography art.

With my k10d I also own a Pentax 18-55mm and a 70-300m Tamron AF lenses. I also have a AF-360fgz flash.

By switching form my Ist* to my K10d I have noticed that I can't get the same result with this AF-360 flash (almost always underexposed). I tried a bunch of stuff:

green mode, P mode, diffrent ISO, different aperture, shutter speed, etc....

I don't know what I am missing?
Hopefully I will find a K10d expert through this forum.

Thanks a lot.

Gerald

P.S : I posted my first picture :))
