VERY impressed by the specs here! Seems like they're really paying attention to the feedback they receive and to the current market offerings.
So AF may or may not be improved, not 100% sure on that, yet?
Definitely interested in this guy, even though my K30 is still a beast!!

Hey guys, let's call this my "Eric's car needs new tires" sale.:(
Really sad to see some great stuff go but I keep telling myself I can reacquire similar items some day... I hope my prices are accurate, I did some searching and looking but didn't want to underprice myself too much! Prices listed are shipped to CONUS. I'll ship anywhere but would ask that shipping is covered outside the CONUS. If you hate the price make me an offer.
First up is the Pentax K20D. Great condition and an absolute workhorse. Works great! I would grade this as good. Some of the paint has worn near the battery bay, but it is otherwise very good. The screen protector is nicked but it saved the screen! SOLD
Sigma 10-20mm DC HSM 3.5. This lens is amazing! I have taken some of my best pictures with it and I'm most sad to see it go, but it is one of the few things I can actually sell to help the financial situation out right now... I would grade this Like New. I think you would be pretty stumped trying to tell the difference between this and one that is new. $500
Tamron 70-300mm 4-5.6 Tele-macro. Solid lens, does the job quite well, especially on a nice sunny day! I would grade this Good. $75
I'll let it all go for $800. I'll take Paypal or Google Checkout.
Thanks everyone!

Wow, that's good! I ordered the kit at $619 when the body was still $630. I figured it was just a matter of time for the body to get lower.

I'll be sure to enter, as I have no DA* or 18-135 WR in my arsenal :)

Not to be a jerkface, but how do we know this lens will be any better? Or not face the same issues this lens does?

2.8-4 would be a perfect lens for me. I'm kinda taking a knee on the whole situation right now as well.

It's far more noticeable with the K-30 since the mirror is so aggressive.

But the wifi cards do it as you are shooting. Which is even better.

I'd prefer Aperture to Lightroom, but frankly, they're about the same and it will just come down to which you like the "feel" of better.
Photoshop itself is probably overpowering for just straight image manipulation, at least as a starting point. Lightroom/Aperture could handle much of your needs better, I would guess.

I think the RAW limitation is actually based on which Eye-Fi you get. I transfer jpegs and use my iPad as more or less a way to see how my pictures are coming out, what adjustments I should make on next shots, etc. It's also really nice to be able to quickly show people "Here's what we got today!" without having to do any of the work yourself. You just setup the card once and it's ready to rock.
I you shoot a lot of RAW or RAW+ I suggest getting a bigger card, if you shoot nothing but JPEG, the smallest one should do. It uploads everything to the iPad, then keeps enough space on the card to make sure you can keep shooting (You set the amount of space you keep available on the card based on percentage) and the iPad then uploads it to their cloud service. So you instantly have a backup, too.

Interesting that you also have the Tamron 17-50 but like the Pentax 16-50's results more... Care to give me the Tamron?! :)
No, but really, why hang onto the Tamron?

I have an Eye-Fi. It works pretty well for me. I have't used it with my K-30 yet (Just got it yesterday) but it worked quite well with my K20D. It *apparently* is supposed to work better for the K-30 than the K20D.
The transfer takes a bit, but not too terrible. It's not live view by any stretch of the imagination but definitely a quicker and better review than you will ever get out of the 3" screen.

Few things can get people on this forum going more than this lens. I love it :)
Why don't Tamron or Sigma try and get into weather sealed lenses? It'd be interesting to see a standard zoom sealed up by another company. Wonder if the reason they don't is because there are trade-offs as we see with the 16-50 or if they don't think they can compete.
If funds were unlimited perhaps a lot of people would have the Pentax AND the Sigma? (Or Tamron)

First of all, it probably mostly gets grief because it was the first SDM lens (am I remembering this right?) and we were expecting it to compete with the best Canon/Nikon glass out there...
But today I was thinking about it... Is there another lens made by Pentax, Sigma, Tamron, anybody, that can match this lens on a K mount?
Think about it, it is weather sealed, covers a standard zoom, is f/2.8 constant, and has SDM. Remove SDM, I still don't know if any can compete. The 18-135 is a strong lens, but not as fast as the DA* at any focal length, the Sigma 17-50 or 17-70 would be another strong showing but no weather seals... Tamron 28-75 same boat.
So, since weather seals are important to me (and others)... can anything compete?
