I see the same thing. For DNG files out of my old k50 it seems to work great. For those from my k70 and k3 iii, it doesn't remove any noise. If anything, it may even increase what is already there.

I’m noticing the same thing. I have Topaz photo AI and it works great. Lightroom AI denoise seems to actually add noise to my k70 and k3 iii photos. I don’t know if it’s the raw details enhancement that is doing it because I can’t disable that when I select denoise. I’ve tried on several images of varying levels of noise and it just flat out doesn’t work at all.

Okay tan some more tests. I wonder if this is more of a k3 iii issue than a lens issue. I tested again on the k70. Took about a dozen. All were in focus except 2 out of the 4 I took using the very outer point. The points clustered around the center were all in focus.
With the k3 iii I got the following:
Top outermost corner point: 3 in focus, 3 way out and one soft
Bottom outermost: 1 in focus, 3 out
Bottom corner of center grid: 3 in focus
One left and down from center most: 5 in focus, 2 out
But I also pulled out the 70-200 again and 2 out of 3 of the top outermost were out of focus.
Though I will say when it missed on the 70-200 it was off by a couple feet (subject was 30 ft or so away). But when it missed with the 16-50 it missed sometimes by a mile. Like sometimes looked as it if was almost focusing to infinity. But given that it mostly behaves on the k70 I don’t think I have a physical issue with the lens.

I just bought this lens and I notice the same issue. My serial number is 3302165. It is pretty inconsistent. Sometimes focus is fine others it is way off. I need to play around with it some more. But my early observations are that it seems more prevalent on subjects that are further away and at 50mm. I haven’t been able to reproduce it at 16mm when I pull in tight to a subject. In addition to the k3 iii I also have a k70. I was only able to reproduce it once one the k70 and that was with the outer focus point which isn’t cross type, and the focus was still pretty close just not spot on. I notice it more on k3 iii. And more so in lower light with the outer focus points (which also are not cross type on the k3 iii). To be honest I usually use center point and recompose. The only reason even noticed this was because this thread made me look for it. I also briefly tried to reproduce on my 70-200 and wasn’t able to though I only tried a few shots. It works perfectly in live view. I’m hoping it’s something they can address with a firmware update. Or perhaps I am just trying to exceed the focusing capabilities of those outer focus points. Though when it is off it can be way off. It’s not just slightly out.

If you are interested in buying, Amazon has it for $1,596. And if you go down to “other sellers” and select the one for the camerabox you’ll be able to get it new at that price plus an additional 10% discount so $1,437 before tax. Only 2 left though.

If you haven't already try formatting the card with your camera. I was having trouble getting mine to transfer anything at first and as soon as I formatted the card everything worked fine.
