Pulled out my clean K10D to give it the once in while shutter workout. Taken with my K24mm 3.5 lens. F8 1/125, iso 100. Deep contrast and explosive vivid colors. Its a shock since I always am using my K20D.

Great experience and nice to hear your story. Right now I'm using a K20d, also has no video but its a straight forward experience I feel as well. Best of luck with your pictures!

Very Nice picture with your K70. I like how the background is in focus. What lens did you use for the picture?

A view of the rolling hills in Sonoma County after a wet autumn weekend from atop of a horse pasture area. The after glows of the sunset contain the hues of blues, reds, pinks, and violets above the green grass in the horse corral.

Great to hear that. I have the SMC version of the lens K50 F1.4 on one of the first k mount lens. It sure is one of my most treasured of in my collection. It never fails to amaze me when I use it. I am going to call mine "The Stunner" lol. I would like to give a M42 lens like yours a shot someday. I heard those older ones started to become yellow over time. Thanks for the reply.

Yes shooting a 28mm has been a small challenge for me at times when I needed more of a wide view. My 28mm was as wide of a prime as I could afford at the time. Just started shooting my k24 3.5 today and its amazing. Just the right amount FoV for my camera. Going to have some good times. Will post a pic soon. ---------- Post added 11-21-16 at 11:13 PM ----------
Nice pictures of your lenses! I'm going call my K24mm 3.5 "Lucky Lady" :) ---------- Post added 11-21-16 at 11:18 PM ---------- .....

Great to hear about your views there on these lens. I have used my 02b lens for landscape and a general lens. I believe its a step up in someways. What else have you learned about the 02B in your years of use?

Thanks to you and everyone here for providing their input. I sure the M 28 3.5 is a great lens. Its really tricky managing many lenses. I am just going to get out there and shoot some pictures to start using my new 24mm. Its very interesting how the much curve the front element has. I believe I will need a hood for this lens to avoid unwanted light from entering the lens. ---------- Post added 11-19-16 at 11:52 PM ----------
Pretty cool names for your lenses! Great work on taking those pictures. They came out amazing.

My initial test indoors. I took a pic at my stainless steel stove and it was very brightly reflecting back like a flare. Maybe its weakness is a bright shiny objects. ---------- Post added 11-19-16 at 12:33 AM ---------- The k 28mm 3.5 may be out of my price range. Would a M42 takumar perform just as well?

Hello everyone, I have been wanting to buy a wider angle prime for landscape and finally was able to get me a K 24mm 3.5 for my K20d.
What are your thoughts on this vs a Pentax 2.8 28mm lens. I plan to take shots of street/people with my new lens as well. Thanks

I don't find this post naive at all. It was well thought of and I like all the replies here too. Why can the pro shoot great or even better pictures with basic equipment? Because its simple/straight forward to use and quicker to master then that clunker dslr. A dslr becomes a unique and different camera with every new lense attached to it. Its clear why some pros really limit themselves to a single lens or camera for most of their photography for this very reason. Consumers will always need the latest and greatest to feed the monster within.

The K2 was an amazing camera as well as the k20d, both flagship models in their times. So K2D maybe, maybe not. It wouldn't do good if the camera didn't live up to that name. The some of the original K mounts were called K-X and K-M. And they took those names recently to use them on the new digital models. So that's why people are thinking about K2, a flagship model. Imagine if K2 was used on an entry level camera instead of K-X. I feel that name has been reserved for their best camera.
