That worked. Not happy with the pop up flash showing up in the picture. I will be in the market for a flash cable or a wireless solution. i have a mini flash cable that's a foot long. Looking for a springy one now.

Ok I can give S2 mode a try later today.

I'm assuming S2 refers to the mode the neewer flash has to be set to..

what mode should the camera be set to under flash discharge method?...
-1 = "discharge built in flash as master"
-2 = "discharge built in flash as controller flash"

Ok thanks for the quick reply. I knew there was something to it.

yes flash is full Manuel.

Whats my best bet for off camera flash with the neewer? Get a cable? Does anyone know of any good value ones. Just want something for product photos or macro so the flash inst sitting right on top of the camera.

thanks again,
Jake.

Hello,
I was playing around with my Pentax k5iis the other day with wireless flash mode. and had some trouble...

I had my settings as this...
-camera in M
-iso 800
-1/30
-F5.6
-first had camera built in flash discharge method as default 1 = "discharge built in flash as master"
-then tried 2 = "discharge built in flash as controller flash"

flash on full power.
-neewer flash in s1 slave mode

In ether case neewer flash had no effect on the picture at full power. looks like flash didn't fire from the result. I watch it close and it does fire but is it late or early?

Just for fun tried the neewer flash on lowest power. At 1 it did show in picture. At 2 it showed in pictures. At 3 it showed in pictures. At 4 and up nothing same result as if the neewer was off.

What am i missing here.? Bad flash?

That's what i was thinking. How is the 18-55 vs 18-135 in your opinion? I know there would probably be a thread about it. But just wanted to see your thoughts.

WNY = western Ny state near Buffalo. Looking for a lens to have for the Niagara air show. any thoughts? was thinking the 50-200 and maybe the 15/F4.

New to me Pentax-A 50/1.7. Nothing like pictures of weeds :)

One of my attempts at Orion nebula with focal 135/2.8. Working putting camera on cheep equatorial mount for longer time exposures with slower/sharper glass. wish me luck.

Pentax da 18-55.

Figured I should post an intro.
I have had a K10D with kit lens and a M-50 smc and 135 2.8 focal. Went with Pentax for the weather sealing and it works with my dads old 50 and 135 :)

Recently upgraded to K5iis with 35DA F2.4. I am looking to build a collection of a couple of primes and a every day WR lens. Looking at just the basic 18-55 but the 18-135 caught my eye. also want a long zoom. But good telephoto glass is expensive. right now the 50-200wr has me interested for the price but might go right to the 55-300WR. Also would love an ultra wide. 15 f4 looks awesome but I have shied away because the bower 14mm 2.8 is faster for milkyway photos.

i edit everything in RawTherepee. Anyone else here use this? If you haven't its pretty awesome for FREE.

Anyway great fourm tanks for having me. Love the lens database and all the reviews and sample photos. I am trying not to get caught up in specs and just learn how to shoot. so far so good.

thanks
Jake

Panorama taken at Castaway Cay on my honeymoon with my Beautiful wife. Best vacation I ever had and my best and favorite memory of 2014.

Please consider my photo for the contest. Me and my wife really could use a new camera. Old Pentax k10d is my primary and though a good camera its dating itself.

thanks
