I have had my K20 for about one month and enjoy it immensely. the biggest quirk for me has to do with live view. It would be nice to have a function for live view to show the effects of exposure rather than having little images taken. A live exposure view would be more handy than taking a series of exposure preview images. I would think/hope this could be an easy firmware up grade similar to the new 1.01.
I also find it strange that you can't see the shutter speed displayed along with the aperture or for that matter change them during live view.
I bought a digital SLR for the optical view finder but have occasions where the LCD screen is handy. Have you ever looked at the sun through an optical view finder with a 200mm lens? can you still see properly? Burnt retinas can be avoided using the LCD. I find this very handy for taking sunsets with the sun still above the horizon.

Yes I have tried switching it on and off many times in combination with turning the camera on and off.

Hello
I am having trouble setting the focal length on my new Pentax k20. I bought the genuine Pentax M42 adapter and have tried my SMC 28 3.5, smc 35 3.5, SMC 50 1.4, SMC 105 2.8, SMC135 3.5 and my SMC200 4 (all M42 mount). When I put any of these lenses I am not prompted to set the focal length and I cannot change it in the menu as the "change focal length" is grey (not white like the rest of the menu items). When I put my K mount SMC A 50 1.7 lens on the camera prompts me to confirm the focal length of the lens. The focal length is to allow the image stabilization (IS) function to work. I can still take great pictures but, would like to have IS functioning with my favorite old lenses. I haven't read any where that the IS function is unavailable with the m42 lenses. Clarification on this would be appreciated.

Hi hope I'm not high jacking but I' having trouble with my K20 and m42 lenses. I bought the genuine pentax adaptor for m42 lenses and have tried my smc 35, 50, and 200 m42 lenses. The problem is the camera won't allow me to change the focal length for the image stabalization (IS). I am getting great results with these and my other manual K mount lenses, but would like to be able to enter the focal length for the IS. I love this camera.
