Tried several variations and although the tree begs for the wide angle I went with the portrait crop and kept the color.

Vince.
Thank you... Natural side lighting through a window, dark background and a simple straight B/W conversion in DXO came together nicely on this one.
FYI, I viewed your tombstone shot in Flickr, nice find and well seen light speckling. I read the tombstone information, Daniel, just 10 yrs, 1 month. So young and obviously loved to put in the detail of 1 month...

So I picked up a little Konica C35 automatic with the Hexagon 1:2.8. I shot some expired (15years+) Fujifilm Superia 400 and had it developed. Learning curves with it but it's fun. I converted this shot to B&W (the color came out pretty fair) because I always convert just to see...
I like it ---------- Post added 12-13-23 at 06:14 PM ---------- This once came out underexposed but I like anyway in B&W. |

cell phone shot (I'm still working on my film endeavor). The IQ is horrible but I liked the light off the table and chairs and the girls in the back engrossed in their conversation so I took the shot. |

Yes, I'm hoping it's something I'm doing, missed focus, not stopping down enough or pp work, and not the camera. I used Kentmore 100, The shots I've seen from YouTubers using it have gotten sharp images, so I don't think it's the film.
Have you posted any shots with 124G of your Portugal trip? ---------- Post added 10-17-23 at 06:12 PM ----------
Wow, those are get images. Thank you for posting the link. I'm going to try another lens to digitalize the negatives and hopefully the results will be better. I, also think it's something I'm doing and not the camera.

Hello,
I'm new to the thread. I picked up a Yashica 12 back in the summer. Had it CLA'd and went out in Sept. for some first shots.
The images are a bit softer than I expected but happy overall with them.
Processed with HC-110 and Ilford Rapid fixer.
Digitalized using Pentax K3-II and the Takumar 50 SMC Marco.
Cropped and slight curve adjustment
Here are a few of shots I liked: |

first try at photography with a Yashica 12. Softer images than I expected but I love the process of shooting with it and developing the film myself. Digitalized with Pentax K 3II and Takumar 50 SMC Macro. I'll be getting extension tubes for a true 1:1. Cropped and curves given a slight tweak. I've looked for a medium format club for "other than Pentax" but couldn't find one. Let me know if ones exists on PF. Thank you. |

Had some time today, so I gathered up a few crab apples and leaves, added a couple stones for an impromptu still life.
Autumn is here. The trees are shedding it leaves and fruit.

It does seem that is one of cons to film photography when processing.
I have seen this setup in YouTube videos and on Amazon. It looks promising and the cost is a plus. My only hesitation is my cell phone IQ is lacking and I want as good a copy as possible. Also, I'm focusing on medium format (120) and the DigitaLIZA Max kit doesn't offer medium format scanning. But if you're only shooting 35 mm and your happy with your camera IQ it's probably a good choice. I think it definitely saves time.
I'm going to try my Tamron 80-210 macro set at 80mm and shoot at f/8 or f/11 on my tripod. I just need the light panel and negative carriers. I'd love to make or get a copy stand. let me know what you decide about the DigitaLIZA Max kit or any other system you get or run across on YouTube.

Q: Color or BW film?
A: Right now BW, 120 on the Yashica 12. Eventfully I'd like to do some color. I have about 4 rolls of 20 year old 35mm that I'll shoot. The rolls weren't initially stored in the refrigerator so they may be too degraded by now. But it will be a fun experiment.
Q:How do you intend at this point to scan your negatives?
A: I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos on this. I saw where many people are getting good results using a digital camera, tripod or copy stand, 70mm or better macro lenses, a 95 CR rated light panel, and negative holder. I have to stay low cost right now. I checked out old engager negative carriers but their prices seem to have gone up almost to new prices from Lomography DigitaLIZA . Negative Supply Basic is a good company but pricey. But I think I'm going to go with this type of setup instead of a scanner ie Epson V600.
"I shoot film but really slowly, so it'll be a while before I have enough rolls to process and scan (C41)" -- It's great you're shooting film. Take your time and enjoy the journey. Do post your shots when you get to that point.
I just bought a Holga N120 for the upcoming Holga Week Event. It's just a cheap plastic camera, but David Burnett carried one a lot and shot some nice atmospheric images. It helped keep his photography experiences fresh, creative, and inventive.

thank you Minimonster for keeping this going. I think I'll be giving October a rest. I'm going focus on film so a daily shot won't be happening right now. Got the chemicals, dark bag etc so hopefully this weekend I'll try my hand at processing. I haven't gotten the equipment to digitally scan them yet but when I do I''ll try and share the results.
