Oh, I have a very good reason, believe me. It's a four letter word, starts with W...I...F.... ends in a vowel. Chief of Staff thinks I spend way too much time on this forum.

That's exactly why I'm trying an early surgery before things get past a "no going back" stage.

In keeping with the times.....

Notes:

1. This can be done in several colors of both t-shirt or actual picture, showing a black t-shirt with the official logo color here for contrast purposes
2. Can incorporate an actual Pentax camera silhouette instead of a generic camera, but it could get too busy and may distract from the main message
3. Can add a tagline below the camera; something like "Get well, little planet" - Pentaxians

Here goes my first "real photo" upload. Sigma DG 70-300mm F4-5.6
Had to focus manually because the light off the water was confusing the auto focus. So not sure how focused the picture is, but it looks reasonable.

Hi all,
I'm a "born again" photographer and Pentaxian from the Twin Cities. Happy to be here and hope to meet some of you and swap stories, tips, tricks etc.

About me:
Male, 48yo. Began photographing at the age of 6 or 7 when my dad bought me a small point and shoot medium format 120mm Agfa Click iv (Agfa Click II ? More than perfect – Photography Blog Ueberlicht) in India. Each 6x6 film roll came with 12 official exposures, but if you were careful how you wound it (manual), sometimes you could squeeze 13 or 14 snaps out of one roll. Black and white. I was given a monthly allowance that covered the cost of 1 film, developing and printing 12 pictures. Taught me to be frugal and thoughtful about composing pictures before clicking the shutter. I still have that camera and hope to click some pictures with it. Over the years, I've owned several 35mm SLRs, 110mm cameras... I even forgot a nearly brand new Minolta 35mm SLR with lenses and all at Chicago O'Hares security x-ray and never saw it again :(

Fast forward to 2014. I bought a K5 ii-S when our daughter was born. I've been using it off and on, but with the COVID quarantine, have been clicking more and using it more, just to get out of the house. Its my primary camera now even though I have a couple of smaller point and shoot types. I've collected a few lenses and hope to meet some of you and learn more about shooting. I plan to shoot these topics: interesting faces, vintage cars, lighthouses, churches, planes and landscapes.

Best regards,
-z

Missing aperture diaphragm (iris) and a buckled blade

Because you asked...

Also included in the mystery box in addition to the two beauties above are:

Three lenses:
1. 135mm F2.8 prime lens. Says "PK" on it near the mount. Don't know what that means. Has some oil on the diaphragm blades. Seems to work ok. Not sure if its an auto.
2. Albinar 28mm F2.8 Macro. Seems to work fine.
3. SMC Pentax M f50mm F1.4. Works fine.

Bonus material:
1. Pentax MV1 body
2. Two vintage lens cases, smell old and moldy, but look cool.
3. A Vivitar flash (untested, not pictured)

What do you think? Happy to ship the MV1 body to anyone who might want it for cost of shipping. Or should I donate it to the forum?

Great idea. I'll give it a try. The thing expands and contracts fine, just that when partially open, there's that extra gap in the blades through which light enters. Could cause some vignetting but can't hurt trying. I'll still need a mount adapter though.
