Really wanted to go light today with no extra lens, the 20-40 seemed to be good choice. Hadn't had it out for a while, forgot how light and easy it is to carry. Other than wishing for more range a few times, glad I took it.

I have 2 MZ-S's, both have a 484**** serial # (actually only 33 numbers between them) with Asahi Optics Co. First had only 3 rolls, the other 62 according to the leader imprinting. Both are working great no issues, plan to use as I would any other camera and not worry whether they have a plastic gear or not. They are wonderful camera, just use it, enjoy it and if it breaks deal with repair then or buy another. Remember there's other way a camera can break down, all cameras will eventually break or need some kind of service.

Agree !!
The DA*200 and even it's larger sibling the 300, might be a joy to carry (and less expensive) compared to the DFA*70-200, but the 70-200 has been very impressive in every other way.

Don't know anything about the 16-45, but the 16-85 has become my most used lens. Though at times I wish it was faster, but it has a lot going for it - WR, quite focus, good IQ, reasonable size & weight and a wide to telephoto range.
From a recent salmon fishing trip in the ocean (out the mouth of the Columbia River) where I didn't want to change lens. It worked great through out it's range from 16mm to 85mm:

Be very careful when putting the box back in and aligning the gears for the speed indicator. This was the part that caused me some issues and don't be to alarmed if the cable comes out of the pulleys, it's fairly easy to put back on track. Fortunatly the cable is stronger than it looks. Don't forget the lubrication tube underneath the speed control, backside of the body.
Have fun !!

You're only getting one set of inputs to the meter - the speed control, aperture & iso combined go to one side of the meter and the SPD photo sensors go to the other. Since it's going to B, more than likely a broken wire or corrosion in the speed/aperture/iso circuit or a dead SPD/broken wire.

Try looking for a 645 Remote Battery Pack, the battery holder is the same as in the camera. I found one new in the box, unused for $75.
