Thanks Lev
I have read that before about focus. I think it was on the Ricoh site about optimising accuracy with large aperture and yep you are correct spot focus setting is what they recommend.
I remember getting frustrated with the Da*55 when I tried it
Large aperture plus young kids is hard. I forgot that saying, Kids never stop moving lol
More luck going back to the Da 50 and practice
Thanks again for taking the time to type your thoughts
Appreciated

Thanks Ash
I've read all the basic stuff I can see here about the lens
The one K3ii review I see in the review section says 'buy it now'. :-) Not overly helpful but points for effort for adding something as others don't even bother.
Was really hopping for some actual K3 with DFA* 50 attached photos of the camera lens combo and comments.
I see in the in-depth review the 50mm physical size next to the DFA 24-70 but believe that to be lighter? So not sure how the 50mm would handle on a K3?
Just thought somewhere on this interweb there would be a photo but I can't see one lol :-)
Im guessing it would have to be amazing on a K3 also
All good
Thanks again Ash!

Not great a driving this forum but did try have a good look. Even google didn’t help much.
Trying to find some photos and or thread of someone using new DFA*50mm with a K3.
Would love to see how it looks on the K3. And hear users thoughts.
If someone could post a link or a photo and some thoughts that would be very appreciated.
Apart from the size I thought there would be more people running this set up as I’m sure I’m not the only person that loves 50mm on an Aps-c camera
Thanks
Luke

Nope
Nore do i want to
I do appreciate the tips/advice though thank guys
Future owner can try this stuff if it sells
Not lowering price further so if it does not sell now I will keep it as its a nice lens. I use this one in manual focus anyway so it is not a problem for me.
Selling this lens and K3ii because I unfortunately don't have the time to use them at the moment and can't justify the money value of these two sitting in our camera drawer.
We have K3 with the DA 35 and 50 for photos of the kids so that fits our needs at the moment
Thanks again!

Want it gone
User UncleVanya has also reached out to remind me that he can do a conversion to screw drive for a small fee. He is able to be middle man and accept delivery and then post out to buyer for a very reasonable price. I'm happy to work all that out if someone wishes as he seems a really really nice guy (Thanks again UncleVanya for advice)
Thanks

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Pentax DA* 16-50 Asking Price
$175.00 US Item Location
NSW (Australia) Item Description
Auto focus not working
Lens hood missing filter piece
No box
I bought this lens on eBay Australia a few years ago from the original owner
Auto focus was fast and accurate. I was using this lens every day and mainly in manual focus trying to get seascape stuff as I went for a afternoon walk. I did notice over the two years I've owned this lens that it has gotten slower and slower at initial 'wake up' when first put on a camera. Especially the longer the period of it being off a camera.
I haven't had time for photography of late and so I haven't been using this lens. It hasn't been on a camera for around two months and when I got it out the other day to take photos of it to sell the Auto focus is not responding.
If you let it sit with a fresh battery I think it may come good. Though unless used everyday it would soon be back to how it is. I've had three DA* lenses and if not in use everyday they all have seemed to get slower and slower to wake up.
I'm selling it as Auto focus not woking. Its now been another two weeks since I took the photos waiting for a chance to list these items and it hasn't been used so thats were its at.
Happy to post Internationally to some countries please contact to see and to get an accurate postage quote
Thanks

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Pentax DA* 55 Asking Price
300.00 AUD Item Location
NSW (Australia) Item Description
I bought this one off eBay as Auto focus slow to wake up earlier this year
Through lots of use each day the Auto focus started to work on this one. Albeit so so slow to wake up when first on camera.
However due to not being used for around three months the lenses Auto focus again seems to be dead when I got it out a few weeks ago to take photos of it to sell.
Nice lens all the same.
Thanks
