Its true, Sometimes Birds do hop. Not quite a " BIF" shot, but a "HOP" shot is not too bad!

There really should not be any issues using those two tamron lenses with a k-3. I have a few copies of these and I use those lenses all the time with my k-3 mk 1 bodies And k-3 mk3 and they function just fine with AF. If you look at the lens reviews here on pentax forums you will see many positive reviews of users using them on a k-3.

Add to it that both Tamrons work on the ops k-20d but not his k-3 to me points to the k-3 being the issue. Maybe check firmware updates on the k-3?

Theres a white latch that holds the battery in place and you have to depress it release the battery....I'm wondering if yours is damaged, worn ,or the spring does not work.. The battery should not move if that piece is engaged. If thats the case, you can make a thin spacer with foam or folded electrical tape... put that between the Door and battery and it should lock it all in. In effect you will be relying in the door latch now.

The K20D is still a great camera. It has its limitations like all tech... you just need to remember that when using it. The same tech that made it a great camera when it was released is still there. I had several of these at one point and I did pass some of them down to my kids to learn on...but not because they were no longer good or worth anything...but because they were good and worth alot as photography tools.:) I still have a couple for me.

Though I really do love the K10D and Its CCD rendering of Colors, The K20D is not without its Charm also, probably why I still use it here and there.

I've been using the Prograde Digital in some non-pentax DSLRs , they have been great. Its been about 6 months and I haven't had any issues.

I was in the yard doing work and as habit, I always have a camera with me. We have a red Bellied woodpecker (Melanerpes carolinus) that nests regularly and was working on this years hole. We also have a pair of European starlings ( Sturnus vulgaris) that have been looking for a nest site. I heard a ruckus in the tree and grabbed my camera as the Starling fought with the woodpecker. Unfortunately the image was terrible backlit by the morning sun, so its heavily processed and I am still trying to bring out its best. They literally fell out of the tree locked in fight.

Bald Eagles here in CT are not as rare as they used to be, they at least nest here in a few places but its still really hard to find them reliably, so when birding seeing one is a real treat.. Its usually one thats adot in the sky or so far out in the marsh its splotch. Saw a "Splotch" in a tree across marsh and decided to see if I could get to it by car... and unbelievably ..I did.

My choice would be the first image. I like the light rays through the sky and I really like the wind turbine in contrast to the sky. The two elements combined make a great image I think.

The scond image is close but puts too much emphasis on the turbine.
