Great advice, thanks, I just snapped up a F 35-70mm for £25......it looks great from what I can garner from the net. I'm really looking forward to having a play with this camera. I always wanted a Nikon D7100, so, from what I have read so far, this is as good, if not better for a third of the price. It won't be as good as my A7 no doubt, but for the money I just paid, it will be a great 2nd. I'm gonna try a few of my 135mm f2.8's at gigs with this I think. I'll post the results here.

Soooo....Just bought a K-5 and wanted to know a couple of things to get me started. I have 2 lenses here, an 18-55 Samsung from a GX1L and a 28-80 Pentax. I'm presuming they will both work OK on this body? Are they any good? If not, and judging by the amout I paid, they aren't up to much, which lens would you suggest for a gig photographer.
I need to keep the spend pretty low, and I'd prefer AF if poss. I have a shedload of MF lenses, some of them really quite good, but AF is really useful in the hustle and bustle of a club. Has anyone used a K5 for gig photography?
I got a 12 month warranty with the camera so I have no worries about reliability, but how robust is the weather shielding? Light shower or downpour safe?
Anyway, I hope to keep this one as a backup to my A7, so I'll be around, annoying you all for a while hopefully.

Funny you should say that. I have just taken delivery of a Samsung GX1L with kit lens. I also bought a Pentax 28-70mm to go with it. It needs repair though. It was advertised as having a faulty LCD screen, so I thought, as it has a top LCD too, I'd just use that, but it doesn't save images to a card or pop the flash up either. It may be uneconomical to fix, so I'll try find a new body for these lenses, as they seem great! I have no doubt, in the very near future, I will have an all singing, all dancing Pentax or Samsung body to call my own.

Hi people. My name's Craig. I'm from the North West in the U.K. and am fairly new to photography proper. I have always had an interest, but till recently, I didn't have the funds to take it up and do the subjects or myself any justice.
That changed last year, so here I am. I currently have a bit of a collection of both bodies and lenses. I ADORE Sony cameras, but I'm no fanboi. I also love the M4/3 platform.
I currently own a Sony A7, Nex 5, Nex 5N, an Olympus E-PM2, a Panasonic G1 and a few superzoom bridge cameras. I also own a collection of legacy glass, ranging from the very cheap (£1.00 on ebay) to the really sexy CZJ Flektagon. It's becoming a bit of an obsession.
Anyway, I hope to rite a few reviews, and glean as much advice as I can from this forum, as I have found it a massively useful resource in the last year. Thank you to all who contribute to the lens reviews. I love you all!
